The Music Director Osmo Vanska ( http://www.minnesotaorchestra.org/about/artists-and-performers/music-director) has told both sides that if they do not settle their differences by October 1st he will quit and go elsewhere and cancel the entire season. Cheers Oi poi, dry season for you fellows. Well, maybe he comes back here to Thule Sure we could ship some Serpå-kròâtián fellow there, they are quite sharks with accordion. ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by ultimaThule at Oct 1, 2013 1:44:00 PM] |

Well he was as good as his word. He said if they did not settle by Oct. 1 he would be out of here. You can't blame him. He is a good conductor/music director so he will go to another orchestra that is actually functioning. We will miss him. I like accordian music. A good player is always a welcome sight for me. Cheers

Made it to the county auction, but unfortunately I did not buy any computers. I thought I could get my hands on another Dell 1950 server, but got outbid. There was two of them in the server stack and I spoke with the guy who bought the whole stack, but he did not want to part with any of them. We were the only two people bidding on them too. If he had known I only wanted one of the stack he would have been smart to let me have the bid lower and he could have had the rest of the stack at half of what he paid. But, so it goes. I did get a lead on another one from another guy at the auction, but it has no processors. I will have to see how much he might want for it, especially if I have to find processors for it. Also found a lead for a couple of Dell 755's (Core 2 Quads) with no hd's. If I can get those reasonably enough I might pick them up also. Somehow they always pick a cold rainy day to have these things. I'll know more in a week or so.

Drat. There was a power outage while I was at school. Three out of my five "outer" system recovered, but 2 of them did not and had to be manually restarted. Lost about 10 hours of crunching on each one. Rats. Thankfully there was no power spike so nothing got fried.

Sold my 3770k system to fund an ivy bridge-e 4930 system. Should get it online next week. Want it ready for when a new project comes out. Have never seen it this slow on new projects. Any one planning on getting the new amd gpu's when they come out?

Any one planning on getting the new amd gpu's when they come out? Have you seen any specs on new units yet ? I see you are sticking with IB and not opting for Haswell. Is there much difference - price/performance ? Cheers

Haswell hex won't be out for a little bit, and from i have read about haswell, i will hold off and let the reviews come out. I don't expect much difference except in power savings. Newegg was selling the 4930 10 bucks more than the sandy bridge version so could'nt pass it up. Allot of speculations floating around about the new gpu's. Supposed to be out before xmas. I robbed my dually's gpu (7950) for the new build so am patiently waiting on the new ones.

After a few glitches, its up and running. A few BSOD's but after a few adjustments, its doing pretty good. Need some new projects to crunch with it.
