Speaking of which we are in a close fight with Ukraine for the #2 spot, with them currently besting us at the moment. Doing my best with what I've got. We may be able to catch Ukraine as we are gaining on them at the rate of several hundred per day, but it will be nip and tuck. Cheers Hope you do not mind, I invite myself to give some support. We do not mind at all, we need all the support we can get. Thanks Cheers

Teams and points and all the other stuff is not the reason I participate in this endeavor. Solving the riddle of disease is what brought me in. This has once again hit pretty close to home. I have an in-law who has been battling cancer in various forms for over 20 years, enduring numerous surgeries and parting with various organs. Now there is nothing more modern medicine with all its miracles can accomplish besides palliative care. He is in his early 50's and should have had more years left. He is not the first relative I have lost this way, but he is the youngest. I wish I could fix it, but I can't so helping with research, for me, is the next best thing. Very sorry to hear about your in-law, Sgt Joe. Cancer is hitting rather too close to home for me right now, too. I'm glad there is another cancer project coming up so we can pitch back in. ![]() |

My range extender hung the other day and gave me a computation error for every WU on 5 separate systems. It had been running so well for a couple of weeks. Once it was rebooted, all of the waiting WU's up and downloaded, but the side effect is all of the finished WU's go into "pending verification" for a bit. Had 15 pages and now am down to 9 there. It sure seems anytime that the wireless connection burps, the Linux systems will error out on the existing WU's. Well I suppose if it worked perfectly I would have less to complain about.
----------------------------------------Took in the state fair today and saw all the usual sights. Really enjoyed the day, but it started to get hot and humid so we left about 1:00 PM. We got there at 06:30 so we had plenty of time so see stuff and eat all of our favorites. It felt like it was in the 90'sF(32+C) when we left. Cheers

Ah, so nice pics. Sure is nice to see local life.
----------------------------------------Now I know story of Princess Kay Aprpoo, did not leave yet back to my home-team, there was just blackout on my home-mountain on Sunday and was kind of boozing around on north, so was not aware of it until now. Now back with all cores. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by ultimaThule at Aug 26, 2013 12:42:28 PM] |

I had to to shut down some capacity today. It is just too hot and humid. When it was already 78F(25C) this morning before 06:00 and the forecast was upper 90'sF(35+C) I checked my machines. The fans in both the 8 core machines were running flat out - sounded like an airplane ready to take off - so rather than over stress everything I shut them down for the day. After the sun sets I will start them again.
----------------------------------------Cheers

I definitely had to make some changes because of the weather. I closed the windows and am now running AC in the computer room as well as the rest of the house. I don't get to work in the AC so I'm not about to go without it at home.
I downclocked my desktop GPU to 600MHz, down from 900MHz. On the laptop I turned down the processor power to 60% |
