Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Nice pics. I looked at the national park article. From the pictures and the descriptions there is quite a resemblance to northern Minnesota.

Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

- even the accent is Finnish in Northern Minnesota ....
Our Base Camp Trek with Team My efforts against Childhood Cancer
taught us a bit about Finland and Finland West (Minnesota/Upper Michigan Peninsula)
- and the sauna culture
The Sauna Song
To begin with I thought it was a Finnish group blushing

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Well, I'm off Clear.com and back to Comcast.
13 months was all I could take. It got slower and slower. I only had a 40 dollar termination fee. There tech support is in India and the customer service is in Mexico. <sigh>

Much better...

I enjoyed it and forwarded the link to captain LTDAkiles.
I remember reading "Lake Wobegon Days" a few generations back
and his unique downplayed style made me take a Memory Lane trip.

As far as I remember, Garrison Kiellor - the Norwegian - met a Danish exchange student
of begon days, married her and moved to Denmark
- he wrote a couple of hilarious pieces in Danish newspapers.
One was about a bicycle trip touring our relatively orderly and neat Buttercupland.
He was longing for something. Didn't know exactly what.
But then! Out of the blue rounding the corner of a country byway it came:
America! My America!
- the messiest farm with all kind of junk spread all over the place ....
He found it did not quite match what he found back home, but it was a decent comfort
blushing

He took Danish lessons with another Danish woman whom he as far as I recall
fancied more than the exchange student, divorced and married that one
.... who would have thought he was such a Casanova d oh
