I forget, who here is crunching on nvidia gpu's under linux?
----------------------------------------If so are you using the --> Option "Coolbits" "5" in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf ? It's been around apparently for quite a while. Why I did not know this sooner is beyond me???? Just did not google hard enough I suppose. Now I can control my GPU fan speed!!! Read about it here http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1128675&mpage=1 Now my xorg.conf looks like this: Section "Device" Identifier "Default Device" Option "NoLogo" "True" Option "Coolbits" "5" EndSection Not a whole lot there. But it works! [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 29, 2012 1:23:31 AM] |

Kind of läptop user so do need to be worry about GPU bearings
---------------------------------------- Apropoo, I did try overclock this item, I did manage do so öbaut 200MHz per core (voltage 1.3V -> 1.4andsomething), but not really getting any better results from Boinc benchmark. Can you get any benchmark for GPU? ![]() |

Some shoe stuff: http://www.sievi.com/?sivu=3185 I looked at the catalog. That is an idea of which I wish I had thought. A studded boot with retractable studs. What a wonderful idea. I looks like they produce a quality footwear. Cheers

I am afraid there will be no real winter here as far as temperature is concerned. Only 3 days so far this year with temperatures below 0F (-17.7C). February could bring more snow and cold, but it does not look likely. Maybe more snow, especially in March, but by then it will not last long. Our biggest snowfalls generally come in March. Monday and Tuesday look to be above 32F(0C) for both days.
----------------------------------------Back on the Jan 21 they had the St Cloud Beer Expo. There were quite a number of different vendors there. Listing here:http://www.stcloudcraftbeerexpo.com/news/2012/1 I think tickets were about $30 and they did draw a crowd. I did not go but I was tempted to go. Cheers

But it works! Now I'm trying to make this work when two cards are installed with only one monitor attached. Fan control only works if xorg.conf has a monitor attached to all gpu's. You need to make a fake entry to spoof it but I'm having some issues making it work. |

Today the annual Midwest Firefighters Winter Water Fights were held in the park near our home. Firefighters from different towns have teams, and the competition is to try to use water from firehoses to push a barrel suspended on a wire down to the opposing team's end.
