The 2006 pro's are 2 dual core chip's. In 2007, apple added quad core chips. If you get the 06 one, you can swap out the chips with clovertown (quad) chips. I did mine older mac pro. Easy to do.

Just before this last rain came I finished harvesting apples off of my dwarf Haralson tree. I quit after 3 feed sacks full of apples. I think the some of them will be going to the chickens who I think have mostly gone on strike. Molting or something. I have already made and frozen several gallons of applesauce. My better half has canned numerous jars of apple pie filling. Once I sort the apples, there are a couple of people with whom I work who will get some. It was a great year for the apples. Harvested the pumpkins, finished picking the last of the tomatoes, and I have dug about half of the potatoes. Planted two kinds this year, Yukon gold and some purple ones. The Yukon gold had nice large potatoes, but only 2-3 per plant. The purple ones have more per plant but very few larger ones. The purple ones are great for frying. I will have to wait until the rain stops to finish that chore. So far in the last 3 days I have had 3.5 inches(8.9cm) of rain. Plus sometime this weeked I need to rebuild a system. So much to do, so little time.

Ebay. I went with the 2.33 ghz clovertowns due to lower power consumption. You can go as high as 3 ghz but there pricey. I think I paid 400 for 2 of them. Might be cheaper now. Not hard to change out. Just be patient. I sold mine then built one (my first) cheaper than a mac pro. Its 2 xeon 2.5 ghz quad core (harpertown). Not sure why but the harpertowns are cheaper than the clovertowns. Total build was less than 1400 bucks. My current mac pro is a 2.8 ghz octo which I use for video editing and crunching. The mac pro's are awesome machines but a bit pricey. Enjoy your new toy.
