Re: The FireFox Add-On Extension Thread

Having opted to change OS clean, rather than upgrade, it was a good time to decide which addons to reapply and which to leave off. Certainly the next one is a wish-full thinking come true: TabGroups Manager .

Create Group Names, Drag a tab to a Group or assign to a new group, the only tabs you'll see are those in the active group (purple square), each with a bracketed number to tell how many are open and if need be hibernated to preserve memory.

No more multiple rows of tabs and searching which one is where... more web page on the screen.

Re: The FireFox Add-On Extension Thread

We've got ColorfulTabs so they look not bland more easily indentifiable, but there are also many website that don't have a favorite icon for when you have many tabs open and cant tell off-hand which is which. HashColouredTabs adds colored icons so you may remember more readily which one to click, or simply right click on a tab to get a list of open tabs... or use the earlier mentioned FoxTab to get them all organized in wheels, screens, on your display for easy picking. Hit both mouse buttons simultaneous and up pops the wall of virtual displays... as were you at Fry's

These work fine through at least Firefox 3.6 Beta.

Firefox 3.6 Delayed, Mozilla Adjusts Road Map for Browser’s Future

It’s looking like Firefox 3.6 will miss its 2009 release goal, but the browser should arrive shortly after the start of the new year.

Firefox 3.6, currently in the final beta-release stages, will arrive in the first quarter of 2010 according to Mozilla Wiki.

The slight delay is having a ripple effect, however, because future Firefox releases have been rescheduled as well. Mozilla has already pushed back its road map for both Firefox 3.7 and 4.0.

Once Firefox 3.6 is out the door, Firefox 3.7 (a fairly minor, incremental release) shouldn’t be too far behind, but we may have to wait until 2011 before the next major revision roles around. According to recent Mozilla meeting notes.....

Re: The FireFox Add-On Extension Thread

With 3.6 RC1 a new [to me] add-on came along

Add-on Compatibility Reporter 0.4.1
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003?src=external-fxbetarelnote

15 of my 45 or so extensions were initially reported as not being updated to this release but after forcing them thru only IE-Tab was left ... a FFX page viewed with IE engine only gives black pages.

Help testing yours and report to Mozilla to give back on something you got for free.

Re: The FireFox Add-On Extension Thread

Here's a nice one to spiff up the appearance of your browser: Personas. http://www.getpersonas.com/en-US/ Changing themes without the need to Restart Firefox and make your own in 1.2.3... today I've got "Looking out on Winter", changed my desk orientation so to look out the big window, up and down in hopes the flakes will arrive here too one day... 15C just now.
