Re: New Stat Image Generator - dcStat

Whatever it was they changed, there doesn't seem to be a set pattern...sometimes it works as I would expect, sometimes it doesn't. Even with the buffer time between requests pushed to 10 seconds, I still get errors, as can be seen right now in my sig (might be updated by the time this message is read).

So....literally just moments ago, I finished testing the code I wrote over a year ago, which should fix this problem.... Using the member to member comparison, so I can pull 8 users at a time, keeping the buffer in between requests (there doesn't appear to be a flood limit set, but I don't want to abuse it and be the reason they add one in the future). Being able to pull 8 users at a time is a real help for this as there are over 650 WCG usernames (which was why updates took so long in the past, as 650 times 8-10 second buffer between requests...)

Test run looks good, crossing fingers that it stays that way now that I've made the change official... smile

Re: New Stat Image Generator - dcStat

I ran the UD agent for years, but when I logon here using my old account name it shows 0 points/results; My account on grid.org no longer works. Is there still any way to fetch the stats from that account, or was that database deleted/purged?

Thanks.

Re: New Stat Image Generator - dcStat

ZoSo - your WCG stats using the UD agent shows 0 points/results? Or are you trying to add grid.org stats to your dc stat image, and it's giving you 0 points/results?

grid.org stats on dcStat are only available to those who had registered their id on dcStat before the grid ship sunk. grid.org never provided a way to retrieve all user's stats, so the only ones I have in my database are those that had used dcStat when grid was still alive.

My WCG stats for the account (EN_ZoSo) under which I ran the UD agent shows 0 points/results... even though I ran UD for years on multiple machines so I'm certain I had years worth of runtime showing when it stopped.

I have not yet setup an account for dcStat using either name.

I'll look around... seems like I used to have a sig that showed those stats when I posted in the support forum for UD Mon... I don't know if those would still display properly, or if that support forum even still exists.

Thanks for your quick response. smile

Re: New Stat Image Generator - dcStat

I think you might be referring to points you earned using the UD Agent at grid.org, vs the UD Agent here at WCG? If so, then the points wouldn't have transferred here, as grid.org and WCG are two separate entities that happened to use the same UD Agent software (the people behind grid.org wrote it, WCG bought the software from them to use before they moved on to BOINC). If you were actually referring to the UD Agent here at WCG, you might want to try checking the support section of the forum for answers. smile

Yes, I started at grid.org, but the stats images I've seen do say 'UD/grid.org' too. I made the EN_ZoSo account here (in 2005, I think) when easynews.com advised us they were switching to this site, but guess I didn't realize our points did not follow. Makes sense, though.

I made this account in 2007 when I first downloaded the BOINC software (ZoSo was taken by someone else at grid.org, so I added the easynews team prefix there) but I still had machines running Win98 at the time and BOINC required 2000/XP, if I recall correctly. So I just stuck with UD and used UD Mon to download multiple WUs at once as my internet connection has not ever been 24/7. I stopped crunching altogether for a while, being too busy with other things, but setup BOINC at the end of Feb '09 and started again.

http://www.statgfx.com was the image generator I used before.

I looked in the support forum for related threads, but when I searched all forums, this thread was near the top of the hits and its title looked promising. It's not a big deal - if the data are gone, they're gone.

Anyway... thanks so much for answering questions about this from someone not even using your generator - you've been very gracious. smile
