Let's see if we can alert the lady. The stats sig pictures went yonder
----------------------------------------![]() (ah, www. now needs inserting )Tip for those short on space in their forum signature (character 249 limit): You can remove the http:// part from the direct or the tinyurl address. Saves 7 characters for each link and freed so much up that I could add my team info back in. ![]()

Strange...I don't have www. in mine, and it looks like it's working fine. Tested in FF 3.0.1, IE6, and IE7. Perhaps there was a hiccup at my webhost at the time? Or is it still not showing?

mousie,
----------------------------------------if I look at my sig, i see the stats pic (with the add W3W, but looking at anybody else's who use http://dcstat.com I don't. Could be a dns resolution thing somewhere? Anyway, I've read once that if the address prefix is www, the servers assume it. Tried it on worldcommunitygrid.org and after a few seconds twiddling it prefixes http://www. It's on several machines which cleared caches. Tried on IE7 and get: http://search.ie7pro.com/search?q=dcstat.com&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 Anyway, the workaround is public now if someone has the same experience. ciao

Thanks Sekerob. Just so I understand correctly - the workaround has corrected the issue for all images now, or only yours with the added www?
I just double-checked, and my DNS settings are set up to allow both with www and without. I have just refreshed the DNS, so hopefully in a few hours after it propagates, it will be corrected. Is anyone else seeing the same issue? |

Only mine works. Just see the placeholder icon(s) for everybody else including yours in their forum sigs.

I'm unable to replicate the issue....is anyone else having trouble?
Sekerob, it might be possible that your ISP is having DNS issues. If you access the DC Stat site itself, instead of the images, do you come across the same trouble? Can you try a traceroute to see if it is able to reach the server? From a Windows command prompt, type "tracert dcstat.com". |

Curious, bounced back to 127.0.0.1.... i recently downloaded a msdn hosts file that has thousands of IP addresses to do exactly that to stop ads/spam. Applied on July 20
----------------------------------------you sit at basic-heavy.fig.dreamhost.com. the one listed is counter.dreamhost.com. there's lost of p sites that start with basic... all send to the blackhole department.... since, i've not seen any adds on e.g. photobucket. oh well, not to worry, now we know and the reason.... thanks for the tracert refresher. long forgotten again.

Looks like BOINC stats are back to updating...moved some stuff around on my network the other day, and broke something in the process.
Curious - has there been any news as to when WCG plans to end the old grid style stats and have BOINC-only stats? |

I've started to convert my chart to plot out project credits per hour in the graphs link of my sig if that is a sign. A few more to do, but the performance charts are done. ;>)

*lurks back in*
Looks like WCG changed their flood limits again (from what they were back when I posted this). Now getting "Too many requests in too short a time" fairly often. So, if numbers in peoples dcstat images look off, that's the reason. (with the exception of mine...not sure why it says there have been too many requests on the first request - in theory, mine should have worked, and the second person in the database should have failed, but apparently the opposite is true...lol). I'm going to have to go back and test a different method of retrieving stats that I put together a while back...already coded it, just haven't put it to the test yet. Unless there have been any new methods for pulling stats that may be useful for my purpose, that have come out in the past few months? |
