Sek,
Yes, a compulsive rebel but only on the even days of the month. On the odd days I am a rebellious compulsive, yin and yan you know. Mousie, The email error seems to be fixed. Now about the Custom Text boxes, they don't seem to behave the way I think they ought to. Either 1. I don't understand how they're supposed to work or I'm doing something wrong(entirely possible) 2. There's a bug 3. You're still in the process of coding that part, it's not complete yet I want to create a Custom Text with height 60 and 2 text boxes. It allows me to input all the parameters but doesn't save the 2nd text box when I click Continue. |

OK, it saves the 2nd text box and all the parameters are displayed when you re-edit the Custom Text so that much seemd fixed. Unfortunately now another bug is revealed, it doesn't display any text. Well, at least it doesn't in the banner I am trying to build.
I have 2 banners built, #19 which is the upper banner in this post and #104 which is the lower. #19 was built before you fixed the "didn't save 2nd text box" bug. #104 was built after the fix. #19 has a Custom Text with height= 60 and 1 text box placed at Y= 55. It displays that correctly, plus a 2nd Custom Text of height= 40 plus several project stats of height= 20. In #104 I have several projects selected with height= 20 and light blue background plus a Custom Text with darker blue background, height= 60 and 2 text boxes placed at Y=35 and Y=55. On the Finish page that Custom Text displays properly on the lower half of the page where all the frames for the final ani-gif are displayed but the ani-gif displays as you see below. In think it should be 60 high with 2 lines of text at the bottom on darker blue background and 1 line above that showing the projects. Or am I confused about how it's supposed to display when all the frames are spliced to create the ani-gif? |

I think I got it to work. I had posted a project with one of our teams, but I wasn't in it, so got one of the lazy error codes. I started over checking one by one.
----------------------------------------![]() I added custom text, but it doesn't work with stat boxes except for one effect. The projects added BEFORE the custom text are rotated and projects added after that are ignored. Deleting the custom text causes all projects to rotate correctly.

The trouble that both of you ended up with is basically due to different size images being used in the final animation.
retsof - If you would like to add custom text, you need to change the dimensions of the custom text box. By default, it uses the dimensions of the "Original Teal/White" layouts. When the dimensions of the various images are different, the final image is somewhat unpredictable.Dagorath - As I mentioned to retsof, the final images are somewhat unpredictable when using images of different sizes. I haven't sat down to figure out what sort of order it puts them in, or what determines the final size of the image. I do know it seems to pick one of the various images sizes, and use that size for the entire image. In your 2 cases, one time it picked the largest one, the other time it picked the smallest one. I'll have to research a bit more eventually... |

The trouble that both of you ended up with is basically due to different size images being used in the final animation. There's no reason in allowing different options for each project, if intermixing is not allowed. Just have one picklist for type of box instead of one in each project. Or are SOME of them allowed to be mixed?

Aha! I think I have found the culprit. I am in the process of building another banner and I have discovered that adding Climate Prediction causes the problem I've been seeing with the 3 line (height=60) Custom Texts. Delete Climate Prediction and it works perfect. Add Climate Prediction back in and it breaks. Delete it and it works again. Try it, I think you'll agree.
Also, I've found that it doesn't matter what order you add the Custom Text and the projects, contrary to Retsof's theory (if I read him correctly). It seems to be Climate Prediction and there may be others, I haven't tested all yet. I've put my latest creation in my sig, see that the sequence begins with a box 60 high with 2 text boxes, then you see a box 40 high with just 1 text box then the projects kick in at the top. But if I add Climate Prediction it will break, tested and verified as I said above. |

Or are SOME of them allowed to be mixed? One picklist would probably make more sense in it's current state. When I started setting the layout portion up (this is actually the second version of it, the first didn't have very many options), I didn't want it to be too limiting, so I left the option for different layouts for each project. Actually, it's a small step above what it was at one point...at one point, you were able to use layouts that were intended for a different project(IE: a WCG layout for a F@H sig, etc). ![]() Right now, there are two versions of the "original" layout that can be mixed, one with a white background, the other with teal. Both are the same size, so they mix fine. At some point, I'll probably narrow down the layout portion to a single picklist as you suggested - right now I'm more concerned with working out the bugs and getting a few more projects added. ![]() |
