We could get some kind of WCG summary in multiple languages and put them on some unofficial website like you guys are doing right now.

Great idea, Depreins! I have a few pages you can translate if you wish and I will be writing more pages soon. I wonder who could host a sight like that for us?

A name... hmmm.... we want something short, easy to remember... a name that describes the purpose of the site.... hmmm... how about www.wcgfaqs.com? Or maybe .org because it's non-commercial?
That 99.5 Gigs should be plenty of room. Very generous of you, Dave. |

Phonetically not acceptable....! Why did Esso change their name when they moved to China?....in Italian 'Esso' means 'He' btw albeit little used (both).

Ok www.wcgwiki.org is ours it should be available in around 24 Hours
----------------------------------------I thought I would be best registering it quick as they have a tendancy to disappear if you make them public It's doesn't matter so much what domain name we have. It's getting it onto the search engines with lots of great search terms that matters. Good content will make a good easily found website. Let me know who is going to be in charge of the FTP account details ( I could add multiple FTP accounts to various bits of the website if necessary) It's a dedicated server which myself and Jonathon Wright (another avid but less vocal cruncher) set up this week for part of our master plan . 1Meg pipe into t'internet no bandwidth limits (apart from how many million bits you can get ino a 1 megabit pipe in a month, I can increase it in 256k steps if necessary )First thing I did with my newly available 3Ghz P4 new box of tricks - yes you guessed it Dave ![]() |

Dave,
Wcgfaqs can easily be mistaken for wcgfags, maybe that's what Sek was thinking. He's right. I like www.wcgwiki.org. It's better than wcgfaqs because the wiki, I think, encourages others to contribute articles. What would being in charge of the FTP account details involve, briefly? I might be willing to take on that job but need to know more first. |

Whoever has the FTP account is the person who can publish to the website and make changes to it. I could offer out more than 1 FTP account it's all a matter of trust and working together on the same source code
----------------------------------------(I could make regular backups ) With a bit more time and effort I could make it truely wikiable (if there is such a word) at some point in the future. But let's make the basic content fixed first and work the wiki through a suggestions type mechanism (A Blog) Lets hope it works its way into the DNS system thro tonite ![]() |
