Thanks for the response Alther. It's good to see some feedback from the developers.
Are our suggestions helpful to you? If so, how would you like us to contribute ideas? I for one am not a programmer, but I'm sure we all would like to help as best we can. Semper Paratus |

Alther, thanks for answering us ... this is appreciated !
----------------------------------------Part two of "I'll answer what I can:" 6. Translation of the client if it's a "World Community", it should be able to speak the languageS (my specific request would be French language interface) Already discussed and we are preparing for several translations. I can't provide a timeframe or the initial languages we are looking to translate to just yet. Once the translation logic is implemented in the software, simply give the English language file to the community in these forums, and within days, You'll have most of the the translations done ! Use us ! 7. Communication between team organizer & members Allow messages to be sent to the team members (a "Message" icon in the "Member Information" area). That's important for team cohesion. Interesting idea. We'll discuss it, but it wouldn't be implemented for some time, if ever. There might be a limitation of the forum software we're using that would prevent this. Just guessing since I don't know the forum software. I did not mean it to be linked with the forums in any way. As I see it, this would be the capability for team leaders to send a message to members. Whenever the client connects to your server, it would also retrieve the message(s) and show the "Message" icon in the "Member Information" area of the client if there is any message. That simple... On the web site, the team leader would have a text zone to compose the message, and a way to select either the entire team or 1 member of the team. Once composed, the message would be sent to the message queue list for each of the selected members. -------------- If modifying the client is too complicated, the same idea could also be implemented as a web only solution where the message(s) are displayed as a part of the "Member Area" page as a new section called "Team Messages" between "Activity Summary" and "Detailed Statistics". -------------- Enhancements to the board would be another way to link the team members. What I would like is, for members who are in a team, the addition of a third section in the forum page below "Official Messages" and "Member Board" called "[Team name] Members Board" That would be more complicated, since it require hacking the forum software (including admin, to allow the team owner some control), but it might be the best way for team members to communicate ... No matter how it's done, the goal is to build the teams as a coherent group, and we need to be able to contact our members to do so and grow ... I am unaware of any current plans to translate the client software at this time.

Remember though, that there are a LOT of things on our plate and we put priority on what the real goal of this is: to complete the project and produce accurate results. We want a great user experience as well. We're not even two weeks old yet so we're still getting our feet wet tuning things, fixing bugs, and forumulating plans for dealing with the biggest complaints from members. Cheers,

Rick, thanks so much for your helpful responses!!
Personally, I would love to see this program able to run as a service on Windows XP & Server 2003. That way I don't have to leave myself logged in all over the place. Another thing that might be helpful, and if you've posted this already I am sorry, is a list of what is on your plate and what is coming down the pipe. We could spend all day kicking back and forth feature ideas, but if you have a to-do list it would give us a peek as to where you are headed with this. Much thanks again, I'm enjoying the project so far! Oidhche |

32. Local Time option in forums in my simple life, the only place I need to remember the difference between my local time and GMT is here. it would be nice if there was an option to set my local time zone and have forum times reflect that setting.

34. Delete or reuse a device if you reinstall the software on a PC, you have to create a new device, even if it's the same name, and there's no way to either delete the previous one or reuse it on re-install |
