Hey folks,
Obviously gaining points and ego inflation is one incentive for throughing as much as you can at this project, but it would be nice to see a real incentive offered by IBM or something. Nothing that has any great financial impact. How about the top5 contributors each month recieve a reward in the form of a certificate or something. Just a little momento to say, I did what I could to help. Nothing fancy, just something to show your equipment, time and money is appreciated. G |

If that were to happen, prizes would have to be given at random otherwise the same people would get them every month.

Wow so many icons to choose from!
Concerning rewards, I agree that some sort of recogniition would be nice and propose the same scheme that Seti@home uses, e.g. a certificate a specific milestones. Say 500 units 1000 units 2500 units. At some point this would be cut off say at perhaps 5000 units. In the case of Seti the certificates are downloadable and printable, nice but this does not consider slower machines and monochrome printers so perhaps they could be sent by mail. Maybe we could also defray the costs with a contribution to cover the postage, after this certificate should be elaborate and suitable for framing? Meanwhile, in the preview I appear as "stranger" where'd that come from? |

Guess that's dynamic and adjusts to the amount of posts each person have. Below so and so many posts you're stranger, more posts you're an... alien...
----------------------------------------A few million posts and you'll gradually become Fox Mulder... Or something of sorts... The certificate idea is nice. Perhaps in the form of a small case badge or something? So that all those AMD/IntelP4 badges aren't completely surrounded by other hardware badges... Back to the "Stranger" issue... What buggs me the most, is that the people who seem to be doing tech support from WCG are also strangers or newbies... Which is weird. One should be able to tell admins/support and users apart, imho.
