Re: Dear Captain We Want You Back

Hello pwrguru,
Mot is in enough turmoil today with out anybody else's help to make matter worse. If you don't have all of the facts you can't make a just decision. At this point I think all MOT members would agree that this is a MOT problem that should be handled by MOT members. NO DISRESPECT INTENDED to you or anyone else. Please let the members of MOT handle the situation. It is our team, our crisis. PLEASE let us handle it.

I do not have to be a member of your team to see what is going on....I have been around for a long time and have seen the very same thing happen to some very good teams....They did not know what happened until it was too late so I felt that your team mates have a right to know what is going on...Do what you like with the info....

By the way, I do have all the facts and plenty of old forums to prove what I said...

Re: Dear Captain We Want You Back

By the way, I do have all the facts

I suggest, sir or madam, that you do not have all of the facts. You were not a participant in the conversations in the messenger conference last night and have no idea of who the participants were, of what was said and who said it. You do not know anything about past interactions between the individuals involved and how they relate to one another.

We, however, have seen that you and some of your friends were having a joyful time watching what was happening as our membership was impacted by it. In the light of that, your concern today is very suspect.

I ask you respecfully to stop posting in our team thread and let us sort this out as was requested earlier. I thank you for your cooperation.

Re: Dear Captain We Want You Back

As much as I've loved the good ship mot if the captain abandons ship so must I.
thanks for all the fish crying
Good luck David .....and thanks

Thats a real shame, but I am confused as to why people are talking about abandoning ship. I doubt that Dave A would have wanted that to happen after all this hard work.

Hope you reconsider smile

I expected you to say something like that and you did not disappoint me...I do not hid behind closed meetings and forums like the self appointed unaffliated at MOT seem to do....I guess you got what you wanted after all at the expense of a very great Captain....But that was the plan all along wasn't it....

First the practical

On a practical note the MOT Webserver is now back in glorious technicolour. If anyone wishes to host the content it is written in Coldfusion and is driven by an Access database and a MS SQL Server. There are also 2 Java Applications written by Aldeb which run as scheduled tasks early in the morning in the UK to automatically collect all of the teams stats and produce the current ranking table

As each new member joins up another entry is required to be made into the access database.

If anyone would like to volunteer I could temporarily make this possible over the internet.

I'm hoping someone will volunteer to host the site. All of this code is free for that persons taking except for the private email addresses that I have hdden in this database - they will stay private folks.

(I also didn't expect to see my correspondance here in the team thread!)

Dave

Now the personal (Although it looks like it's already been done)

Dear Team

Thankyou for the kind words here in the team thread and the many thoughtful emails that I have received over the last couple of days they are heartening that I did make a difference and it wasn't all in vain

I have mulled it over at length and I have to tell you my decision is final and I am content that I have made the right one.

I turn 40 on Monday a time when life begins they tell me and I need to use the fleeting time we all have on this planet wisely.

I need to give my resources, time, effort and skills to God's great plan for me, my Family and my Church, which I will be doing from now on.

You have to give people the right to move on. For those that know the good book have a read around Ecclesiastes Chapt 3 "A Time for everything"

You have to let me go

I wish you all nothing but the best

Dave

David A.

Thank you for having posted here once again, it is always a pleasure to read your posts.

Also, thank you for having clearly stated your reasons for resigning. Maybe your own words will help others understand the true reasons for your having left, and will permit this team to return to it's original purpose.

Ladies and gentlemen of MOT, you now have David's own explanation as to his leaving. I sincerely hope that we will see no more members jumping ship because of malicious gossip and inuendo with regard to there having been some kind of coup within this team. That idea was never more than sheer vindictiveness on the part of those who wish MOT only harm, as has now been clearly demonstrated.

When the time comes to vote in a permanent captain, this will be done in our own forums. You will need to be there to cast your vote, so please register ASAP.

With David's words here for all to read, those members who recently left the team may like to reconsider, and rejoin this great team.

Thanks! smile
