It was an interesting post Bill, and is an interesting concept. It seems that it it unclear as to whether it will work at all, but some mug is bound to build it to see if it will work! Will that mug be you Bill? Maybe. It depends on what I find out about the efficiency of heat pipes and the practicality of building one. Cheers. Bill Velek |

Well, HomeBrewers, while we received a thorough thrashing from User Friendly in the February Recruitment Contest, we can still hold our heads high because we came in second place, beating the dickens out of the other one, two, or three teams who competed (I don't know if the other teams were really competing except for Bit Bender Tech, in 3rd place -- which we beat almost 4 to 1).
On a more pleasant note, we did manage to recruit 14 members in 27 days (we actually started the contest on February 2nd). And in the past six days, we have had 5 days in which we scored over 20,000 points. And our team is just 99 days old, but in that time we have moved to #172 in team size (top 2%), #600 in total run time, #602 in points generated, and #582 in results returned (top 7% in stats across the board). At this rate, we should make it into the top 500 by March 15th -- so that's our new goal. Cheers. Bill Velek |

Thanks, Adywebb and V_R. Yesterday we posted our highest daily score ever, with 21,696 points, which was 121st place in teams. We even managed to beat 'Get Er Done', 'Vulture Central III', and 'SuperBytes Belgium'. Of course, that's less than half the points of 'PCReview Crew II', so we still remain in absolute awe of you.
Cheers. Bill Velek |

From one Bill to another Bill.
Well done for beating us on the recruiting scene. At the end of the day, it didn't matter who one because more where recruited for the cause that we all crunch for. We are not bad loosers over at BBFT. But........... a little tip for when you get brewers droop..........I hold the little blue pills and you wont get any. ![]() |

Of course, that's less than half the points of 'PCReview Crew II', so we still remain in absolute awe of you. We have to thank Ady for that, he averages over 13,000 a day! Me, i only manage about 2,500 give or take a bit each day. But its the results that really count. Looks like your on for a cool 1 million in a couple of days! ![]() By the way, are you using/have you tried BOINC yet? You may see an increase in points if your still using the UD agent..... Looks like your on for a cool 1 million in a couple of days! ![]() By the way, are you using/have you tried BOINC yet? You may see an increase in points if your still using the UD agent..... We made our first million today -- with a jump all the way to 1,022,515.I've installed BOINC on one of my computers -- the slower one in the kid's room -- but I'm having a few problems that I haven't had the time to sort out. Hopefully I'll have some time tomorrow to play around with it. Don't know if it will make any difference. My computer, which is the better one, won't let me install BOINC because of a .dll file that is associated with my laser mouse. To fix it, I'd need to try substituting a conventional mouse, uninstalling my laser mouse program, install BOINC, and then try to go back to my laser mouse. In the process, I'd need to pull my computer out of a compartment in my desk, which is a bit of a hassel in itself. So ... unless I see a rather dramatic increase in points on my other computer, I'm not sure I want to spend the time trying to install it on my main computer. Cheers. Bill Velek |
