Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

I am now starting to get some “proper” valid results for the latest very short-running MCM1_9999996 tasks, I.e. 2 valid results, with credit granted to both wingmen.
Cheers,
Mark

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

I think this is not an error, probable a syntax check to prevent SQL injection..

That's good news (I think!) -- care to share a few WU IDs ?

On more than a dozen hosts that hare/have been receiving MCM1 WUs again, all batches are of the MCM1_9999998_ kind.
And nothing really getting validated...

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

Wondering why it wouldn't let Adri post a message with the word get next to the word input, I conducted an experiment of my own...

I duplicated Adri's test and [unsurprisingly] got the same effect :-( -- after that it wouldn't let me reply to Mark's post so I used a different machine to post that and I'm about to put those words next to one another here to see what happens given that it let me post them with other words between!

And if I enter the test below as three separate lines it blocks it! Bunching it up gets through...

Testing... get input ...end test

I suspect jgis may be on the right lines with a primitive SQL injection avoidance technique or the like. Alternatively, it could just be that some things give the transport mechanism indigestion :-(

Cheers - Al.

P.S. another possible workaround is to use diacritics -- e.g. gét input or get înput

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

Thanks, bfmorse!

Interesting to note that they seem to have sent out a few more short-run tasks today. (I just noticed I got one about the same time as yours, and it validated properly!)

I had five early true validations amongst the [many] original short-run tasks I got but I'm hoping Mark (or someone else) might have some for normal-length tasks (optimistic, me?). I've not seen one yet :-(

Cheers - Al.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

Re non-success returns not resulting in retry generation, as per Adri's example...

I've seen a few wingmen failing "Finish file present too long" or "couldn't start app: Can't link input file", along with a couple of Detached tasks. None of those grew a retry either!

I wonder if they've done the standard validator trick with the WU check time as soon as they see a success result, or whether they've found some other way to stop retries being automatically provided. If so, it might stop retries as I believe the transitioner wouldn't see the failed return...

I do wonder about why MCM1 tasks seemed to stop being assimilated after that database crash before the migration :-(

Cheers - Al.
