What is a "Day" regarding Badges?

Since this project awards badges based on time instead of credit I'm curious how this works.

I found (somewhere) this info:

"Badge Medal Level reflects the user incentive virtual 'badge' the user earned for their runtime contribution to the project"

I'm wondering what defines a Day?

Is a Day counted when a task is completed and returned (on that calendar day)?

Or is Day counted on the calendar day when a previously returned task is validated and credit awarded??

For example, if I return tasks over a 10 day period and they all get validated on the 10th day does that count as 1 Day or 10 Days?

Similarly, if I crunch mightily for one day and the validations are spread out over 10 days...??

Thanks.

A Day is 24 hours of CPU runtime, after the result has been declared Valid.

WPrion,

Adri's short response might be all you wanted, but I'll just add the observation that results often don't get validated soon after they are reported, as not all users return work soon after receiving it -- sometimes, they miss the deadlines completely and retries go out, further delaying validation :-( -- if you tend to turn work over soon after receipt you may notice the effects of that!

Cheers - Al.

What is the unit of measure for CPU Runtime on the Results page?

Re: What is a "Day" regarding Badges?

On the Results page, you'll see something like:

Result name Status Sent time Due / Return time CPUtime/Elapsed Claimed/Granted
MCM1_9999996_52073_1 Valid 2025-10-23 19:11:09 2025-10-23 19:38:35 0.03/0.03 1.4/1.5
MCM1_9999998_543194_1 Valid 2025-10-22 06:11:10 2025-10-23 22:46:45 1.37/1.39 75.9/84.7

The CPUtime found there is measured in hours. So "0.03" means 0.03 hours, that is 0.03*60 minutes = 1.8 minutes. Nearly always it is a rounded number.
Also, "1.37" means 1.37 hours, which is about 1.37*60 minutes = 82.2 minutes (1 hour and 22.2 minutes).
