Thank you for all the ARP WU info. If WUs die and don't end up validating for whatever reason I do think it is helpful to report it in the ARP thread as a couple of people are keeping lists. I assume that the too late ones I report are ones that get stuck in past generations, and this info will help us spot if they start moving again. As mentioned in the ARP1 thread, I got a couple of resends, but nothing else.MCM has started putting out fresh WUs. Not sure if ARP has yet or not. MCM1 seems to have filled up the queue of all my hosts I was able to check, but the number of WUs in PVa jail keeps slowly increasing, not decreasing as I was hoping after someone kicked the tires of the feeder again. And usually in the past that piling up of WUs always has been a harbinger of bad news... Ralf |

There are a number of issues. From weird errors to WUs not validating, and server aborts.
----------------------------------------I think only resends are going out now. Monday will be interesting as they clean up this mess. I'm empty right now, and I'm ok with that. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Unixchick at Aug 4, 2025 3:57:09 AM] |

Hello!
----------------------------------------I did not get any, I'm on windows so I guess they are resends from previous batch! Project Status says so 🙂 Hans S. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Hans Sveen at Aug 4, 2025 6:24:21 AM] |

It looks like a few new ARP are trickling out.
----------------------------------------MCM is now sending out fresh WUs. I'm guessing from the small number that the MAM is from resends and not a new batch. They have been testing linux lately. Hopefully the beta will go well and Linux and Windows can enjoy the project. edit to add: MCM is sometimes validating, and sometimes stuck. It has been noted that MCM with two wingman copies just sit in the queue not validating. This isn't happening to all MCM. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Unixchick at Aug 4, 2025 3:19:53 PM] |

Well,...
What looked at first like a new flood of MCM1 WUs was barely getting the ground wet before it stopped again. At least about 1/3 of my PVa jail inmates have been released so far, not sure if those two things are related at the moment, but these days, one has to be happy about every little thing, right? Raif is correct
MCM seems to be in resend mode now, as hopefully they are cleaning up the issues from the weekend. ARP is resend only MAM is resend only. The status can change quickly , so check the reference numbers in the first post. |

It seems that the validation backlog may be fully cleared now. I've just been checking my wingmen data for the last few days and as of about two hours ago I had nothing left stuck in PVal jail, whereas the day before about 600 of my 1200+ Pending tasks also had a wingman pending (and I suspect it would have been worse if not for the new work drought!) Hopefully we've seen the last of that for now.
And as for the [dubious] ARP1 Validate errors -- about half the WUs people noted recently ended up with a pair of validated tasks and only one of the remainder looks to be in immediate danger of becoming a failed WU. Given that other WUs seemed to be validating as well, that looks hopeful too (though it's not been nice for the folks who got the paired errors!) Cheers - Al. |
