For those who have noted here (or elsewhere) that some WUs seemed to have validations across platforms, and that it might imply Homogeneous Redundancy had been turned off...
It has already been pointed out that the selection of an application version is not done by reference to the host system's announced O/S; however, if we assume that users asked for applications for the correct platform, that doesn't explain why in some cases the O/S information is inconsistent with the application choice. MJH333 and I had an interesting chat about something similar as part of a thread called Boinc 8.2.4 and BUDA in the BOINC Agent Support forum. Short version is that it seems likely that some Windows systems run Windows executables but manage to represent their O/S as some sort of Linux (or, in one obscure case, a task without a recognizable O/S name, which validated with a Windows task!) If there's anyone who sees this post and happens to be [very] familiar with BOINC client and Docker and/or WSL on Windows, perhaps they can shed some light on why this might have happened... Cheers - Al. |

There’s a new post on the Jurisica Lab WCG Operational Status page saying:
I think you folks need to take another swing at this, I'm still not getting many WUs. ![]() |

I have just noticed some recent changes in WCG's web site:
MAM is now listed as a sort option in the RESULTS display. Beta testing option is still there as well. Some of the web pages are/were temporarily not available - suspect mods being done. Still no idea as to what the delay in releasing more WU's of active programs beyond the most recent update this month. However, there is a small trickle. Backlog of PV is much smaller - for me less than 250 with the oldest WU's (includes previous beta runs of 4/27 & 5/06) is 7/28 - not sure if that is the result of a concerted effort to clear that out or just a smaller volume of new WU's to process. Looking forward to additional information being shared as time permits. |

Whilst preparing for MAM1 launch is a good thing, I doubt that they think it's fit for purpose yet, given user reports in the Beta Testing thread. I guess there are going to be some unhappy impatient users for a while :-)

MAM is probably not going to happen for Darwin for a while, but I still put it in my device profile. It is nice to see progress.

Thank you, bfmorse!
On the Projects page one can now find Mapping Arthritis Markers, too, and it is already listed as Active. The BETA-testing is far from over, though, if you ask me, with the recent tasks exceeding the time limit as an example. Furthermore, in one's Device profiles, one can now also select the new project. Additionally, I've updated my wcgstats program to include MAM1. Adri |
