Re: Downtime warning

It looks good.
The machines are able to download new WU's.
At my side, it restarted at about 2025-01-10 23:00:00 UTC and 2025-01-11 00:00:00 UTC.
Unfortunately, it looks like that many successfully computed WU's from 2024 were discarded at report time because of not meeting the deadline sad ...
Cheers,
Yves

There may be no need to cry. Have a read of the following https://www.cs.toronto.edu/~juris/jlab/wcg.html under the operational tab

January 10, 2025
All our servers are back online. We are downloding processed work units and sending out new ones, and they have the right deadlines (after the initial glitch with the time).
We have noticed 92,194 results that ended up in an error state. We saved all these in a file so we can repair this issue. We'll be able to rescue these, especially since there is no file deleter or db purge daemon running for now, so all data related to these workunits is still on the filesystem.
We will continue to monitor the system to make sure it is stable.
We are also working on getting MAM project into beta.
Thank you all for continuing to support research. Happy new year.

Re: Downtime warning

It seems like the backoffice functions is out of order. It doesn't show most of my devices. The contribution statistics is way off. Clicking My contribution / History show I did 123 jobs January 11 - looking at the logs at one (1) of my servers show it did 603 jobs that day so something is very wrong with the statistics. Looking at the very nice contribution page show I did almost nothing January 11 ....

Possibly a silly question, but have you selected “anytime” in the “Last result returned” dropdown?

One point to bear in mind is that the statistics on the Overview page relate (in general*) to results that have been validated, not returned. So, although I have returned quite a few results since the restart, most of them remain Pending Validation and so are not reflected in my Overview page.

Cheers,
Mark

* The “Streak” is calculated by reference to return date, not validation date, as return date is something usually within the volunteer’s control, but validation is not.

tongue Re: Downtime warning

It was not that silly tongue I didn't even notice the drop downs. Anyway, it did not make any difference. It shows 7 of my 12 nodes, two of them has changed name but shows the old ones.

The 5 missing nodes has not been running WCG before. They ran WCG the first time when work units started coming 11th so maybe it's just me being impatient. I think they said on their status page that there is still some work to restore full functionality.

There has been an issue in the past with new devices not showing up automatically as they should do. My experience has been that they do show up within a few days. Perhaps give it a week and if they haven’t appeared, list the device IDs in the other thread you have posted in and ask the WCG techs to add them manually.
Cheers,
Mark

Re: Downtime warning

My stats show a lot of results returned that were downloaded in Dec 2024 but returned in 2018. Can someone confirm that's not just me and a known error that is being worked on?

Re: Downtime warning

Known problem - already resolved.

If they returned with ERROR it likely means they didn't start before the deadline, if they returned as VALID or PENDING, you get credit for them.

Re: Downtime warning

Running again with a limited number of WUs. Some of the latest returns are dated June 2018 !!!! Time to reset the clock?

Indeed, I have about 133 WUs being discarded because of the date problem: June 2018 instead of December 2024 respectively January 2025.
Cheers,
Yves
