----------------------------------------From https://www.cs.toronto.edu/~juris/jlab/wcg.html: August 29, 2025 Full migration of WCG from the Graham to Nibi cloud facilities will be completed between 3:00-5:00 p.m. on August 31st, 2025 (I guess that depends on how one interprets "Full migration of WCG . . . will be completed") The latest from ~juris: October 15, 2025 Testing the validators right now, been a lot of iterations on these. As soon as the validator works, we will deploy across the six partitions and clear the backlog. Then we can check the transitioner interaction. If that is all good, we can finally start sending new work. So finally (maybe) we'll be getting new work, after over 6 weeks of waiting. But they've been busy with the Blue Jays and their Thanksgiving, which take many days. But for the sake of the thousands of World Grid people fighting cancer, world hunger, etc., and their dedicated computers, I wish they would relent less.  |

Yes, WCG is dead until further notice. Move over to Folding@Home if want to crunch for medical research, or you could go for any other BOINC project of your choice. Now, there's a really constructive thing to post when a lot of us have been receiving new [production] MCM1 tasks (since somewhere around 09:00 UTC this morning in my case)! The many "test" tasks (MCM1_999999x) sent out since 2025-10-21 in order to test new work distribution, collection, reporting and validation seem to have been a constructive use of time. The long period before that was a pain, but if the revised system can cope with higher throughput than the old one it'll all be worth it. Ah, well; it takes all sorts... Cheers - Al. P.S. Well, the new regular MCM tasks, seems to validate too, and almost immediately after both wingmen have finished their tasks.
