Re: Downtime warning

In regards to WCG...don't do a damn thing with your pc.
Restarting will not clear the problem. New BOINC will not solve your problem either.
You can upload apparently, but downloads are http permanent failures a few hours ago. The servers are not working right still as of a few days ago. They are working on things at the project level now. System level seems stable.

You guys need to read your BOINC logs and if you get http errors or something else, its not your pc or BOINC. Its all WCG.

Greg_BE,
If you read our post again you will note that we are not talking about the download transient faults. We are talking about the upload problem which were solved with a newer client.

There is no upload from server, there are/were uploads TO the server(s). That is/was working.
What still isn't working in any processing of the uploaded data (validtion, assimilation) and without that working, there will be no new WU to be downloaded by the clients and again processed.

And with another 4 days of silence from WCG, don't expect this anytime soon...

Re: Downtime warning

ok..you got me there.
But if you read the rest of my post it is correct.

Nothing you do locally on your system will solve any error generated by WCG. End of story.

Re: Downtime warning

There is NOTHING, we, the crunchers, can do to alleviate matters.

All we can do is wait.

The latest official update can be found here:

https://www.cs.toronto.edu/~juris/jlab/wcg.html

It seems to alternate between meaningless technobabble and vague expressions. This week we have the vague expressions.

'Work will resume'

Re: Downtime warning

'Work will resume'
It's somewhat better than that:

"Work on finishing deployment setup…" (will resume today, 2025-10-14).

PS I had to add the ellipsis to overcome the 'Forbidden (You don't have permission to access this resource)' message.
