Re: Downtime warning

All I"m getting is this:

"03/10/2025 23:34:12 | World Community Grid | Another scheduler instance is running for this host"

Bit annoying
Yup - usually a sign that the scheduler can't see the filestore that contains per-host scheduler locks... It is unclear whether that's deliberate at present while the upload backlog is being cleared or whether it's another issue.

Cheers - Al.

sad Re: Downtime warning

The lack of information and updates is most annoying. My backup project, Rosetta@home, is down too. 😒

I might as well shutdown my PC for a while, something which I have not had to do in this PC's seven years.

Why isn't there anything about this outage here? That's the reason it exists!

Getting this as well. Perhaps these guys should focus on fixing what's broken instead of trying to push out a new app.

From the Jurisica Lab WCG Operational Status message of 3rd October 2025 (cut/paste quote):
We are aware of the issue with the scheduler returning "Another scheduler instance is running for this host" and have identified the cause in the config.xml template we adapated for the new containerzied environment. We will fix it once we have confirmed that the new event-driven validation and assmilation pipelines are working correctly.
The likely cause of that error message (BOINC scheduler can't process per-host lock files) has been discussed in several other places already, including a few posts earlier here :-)

So this particular fix has been identified but deferred until other important bits of the BOINC process chain are working! (And I rather suspect that any major work on MAM1 beta has gone on hold while they are still having issues getting core functions working...)

Cheers - Al.

Re: Downtime warning

Well, whilst 3 out of my 4 computers have uploaded all their files (and even had their tsaks reported back), I've still got 1 computer getting "transient HTTP errors" when attempting to upload files. Is there anyone else still having this issue?

No mate. All my tasks finally reported as I started the PC this morning.

Hopefully thats just a temporary glitch you're enduring, and all will be resolved when things start up again.

Hallo WCG,

es wäre hilfreich wenn Ihr uns Helfern schreibt wann es mit den WU's realistisch weiter geht.

Re: Downtime warning

I've found that WCG status is updated more frequently at Jurisica Lab WCG page under the Operational Status tab.

Well, "more frequently" is highly debatable.

Beside, why not post that info in here right away as well?

Re: Downtime warning

Skillz - the app was put out and running before they decided to change cloud structures,
This is a university team. Maybe 2 or 3 guys and they are encountering problems putting everything back together. You know how computers can be.
