Seeing WU's and have many in the queue. However, when I visit my contribution page - I am not getting 'credit' for completed WU's. My page states last WU was Feb 2022. For some reason not know to the rest of mankind, they removed the link to the "Results" page. Book mark the following URL.https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/results If those returned and validated results ever count in your WCG project stats, well, your guess is as good as mine... Ralf No problem here. The results page is still accessible under the my contribution option. Cheers

Cheers Ralf PS: Never mind, what you are referring to is on that stupid side menu that probably nobody finds. There used to be a link under the "Activity section" of the Overview page... PS2: Very interesting, who ever redesigned that web page build in some interesting random behavior. On the machine I am typing this (Dell i7, 16GB RAM, Win 10-21H2, 1920x1080 resolution), the side menu on the left hand side is only accessible via those three horizontal lines left of the WCG logo on top, that makes it slide out to the right, graying out the right hand 80% of the screen.. Just tried it on my programming machine (Dell 17, 16GB RAM, Win10-21H2), the side menu is open, no "gray area" and it scrolls with the page. Also showing only links pertaining to the stats, while the other machine has additional menu items for the site. And both machines are running identical versions of Firefox 103.0.2-64bit, about upgrade to 104.0... [Edit 2 times, last edit by TPCBF at Aug 24, 2022 4:47:44 AM] |

The side menu vs the hamburger menu (the three lines) is a window width issue for me in firefox. If my window is narrow, I get the thee lines, if it is wider I get the side menu.
I access my results page via the my contribution tab at the top of the browser window. |

Regarding the seemingly random appearance of that sidebar menu...
----------------------------------------It's not random behaviour at all, it is based on the width of the browser window in which the page is opened :-) As an example, I usually open browser windows with about a 4-to-3 aspect ratio rather than the [typical] 16-to-9 of my screens, and I don't get the sidebar. If I maximize the browser window (or go "full screen") then the sidebar appears without any other prompting on my part. The same effect happens if I drag the window to make it wider -- at the critical point the menu appears... Of course, folks with narrower screens may never see the menu at all unless they click the "hamburger" icon :-) Cheers - Al. P.S. I am also using Firefox, albeit a slightly older version. That said, I'd be very surprised if other browsers exhibit different behaviour in this case, [Edit: I see Unixchick beat me to it, and was more concise :-)... but as i wanted to "take issue" with the idea that it's random behaviour I'll let it stand...] [Edit 1 times, last edit by alanb1951 at Aug 24, 2022 6:31:01 AM] |

Regarding the seemingly random appearance of that sidebar menu... Same browser (now Firefox 104.0) on both machines, with same resolution on both machines. Just that one is a 15.3" screen, the other a 17" one, but that is not something the browser/OS can possibly know. And for the year that we are now dealing with that awkward redesigned web site, I have never noticed that. It's not random behaviour at all, it is based on the width of the browser window in which the page is opened :-) As an example, I usually open browser windows with about a 4-to-3 aspect ratio rather than the [typical] 16-to-9 of my screens, and I don't get the sidebar. Using Firefox 104.0 here. Since I usually run in full screen mode on the WCG website, I never noticed a problem. I use an older 17 inch(43cm) square monitor so I have never experienced the problem you mentioned.Interesting how it changes if I do not run in full screen mode.

Had some download issues getting an ARP WU last night, but otherwise I seem to be getting a steady stream of WUs now. Good to see!

I use an older 17 inch(43cm) square monitor so I have never experienced the problem you mentioned.Interesting how it changes if I do not run in full screen mode. Well, I always run in full screen mode (well, not THAT full screen mode, I always have the browser "maximized"), so with the same screen resolution and same zoom setting, the display on those two machines is simply different.Cheers But anyway, hundreds of completed WUs have now dropped off "the list", with no official word if those are elsewhere retained, which I seriously doubt, as it would probably as much work to fix the web site than it is to add procedures to retain those WUs beside the normal database handling. By now, with less WUs still coming in than Thursday/Friday, this will probably account for several months of runtime being lost for me. Beside that it will likely totally screw up the internal stats as well. To me, the external stats are far less important, beside I am not sure if there are some discrepancies as they are right now, but I would need some time to crunch the numbers to compare for example BOINCstats or FreeDC with what is showing in the history.csv... As at least a couple other posts have shown, I am not the only one pointing out this issue, I just might be the most vocal one... Ralf |
