Re: Transition Talk

Everybody keeps talking about the billions IBM makes. Very very little of that made it to WCG. If IBM really wholehearedly embraced this project things would have been beautiful and flying here.

Krembil seems like a new owner who really wants to get in here and make something of this place. Yeah, there's going to be changes and we're going to miss things, but it sure beats seeing WCG just trudging along.

Also, nobody else on BOINC has a focus on Cancer research. The only other public DC project I'm aware that does is DreamLab. I haven't been on it some time, but last I was you couldn't globally track your stats, only on a per device basis.

Not true.

GPUGRID contributes to cancer research as well.

Rosetta@home also does cancer research

WCG (specifically the cancer projects since not all of WCG is focused on cancer) is not your only option.

Re: Transition Talk

A few reminders:

1. Please read the article about the transition before commenting or asking questions. It addresses some of the concerns that have come up in this thread.

2. After reading the article, please read through the existing Questions and Answers thread about the transition to see if your question(s) have been addressed.

3. Please ask any new questions in the Question and Answer thread, which we are monitoring to make sure questions are answered as quickly as possible, and which we created to keep information in one place so that volunteers can find it more easily.

Thank you to everyone for your participation and support.

Hey no offence Admin, but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of hardware owners that support cloud collaboration via this platform for the benefit of humanity that were directed to this thread as part of the transition to Krembil. We don't care about your WGC forum etiquette.

The auto paste arrogance is potentially a sign of why we needed to move to forward...

Who are "we"?
I for one do indeed care very much for forum etiquette, and so do most other regular participants here.
To caitilarkin from me too: Keep up the good work.

No one here owes you anything or needs you around. If you want to feel special and/or be entitled and rude, please go elsewhere and then spend some time thinking about what the point of volunteering actually is.

Please don't refer to "we" if you just mean yourself.

Keep up the good work, caitilarkin.
