Re: COVID Vaccinations

Im Australian, got stuck in Peru by the lockdown. Peru has been to hell and back with around 200,000 deaths, the worst per capita in the world, I myself lost three friends, including the owner of my hostel, and another friend was a 37 year old fit non-smoker non drinker. Vaccines were not delivered as quickly as promised, but thankfully the worst has passed, they have now begun vaccinating people in the 30 to 40 age group, and the death rate has plummeted, though they recently extended the official State of Emergency for another 180 days in case there is a third wave of breakthrough infections like has manifested in some other countries. I myself got two Pfizer jabs for free, whilst others have received Sinopharm or AZ jabs. Only side effect for me was bruised arm (1st jab hurt longer than the 2nd jab) More info here https://explorecuscoperu.com/2021/08/17/covid-in-peru-after-17-months/

Re: COVID Vaccinations

I got my second Pfizer dose on the 9th of August.
1st dose side effects: pain in arm for four days. Comfortable enough to sleep on that side after a week.
2nd dose side effects: Pain in arm for a couple of days only. The day after the jab I felt tired, had tired/painful joints and thought that I had a fever (but I didn't). Next morning, all symptoms were gone!

Re: COVID Vaccinations

I had my second shot of Pfizer 4 days before easter. The first shot gave me a sore muscle and the chills the day after the shot. The second also gave me a sore muscle and maybe a three day migraine. I can't say for sure about the migraine because I am subjected to them so it may not have been related to the shot.

If I had known about the side effects in advance, I would have still received the shot. I know of at least 7 people who had Covid. One died and the reminder had serious cases lasting between 2 and 6 weeks. If your not going to get the shot, you better make sure you have insurance that covers a hospital stay because far to many people end up there.

I suspect that because I reacted to the first shot, I have somewhat of a natural immunity to Covid. As I am 70 years old and have been exposed to many bugs over the years, one of them might have looked a little like Covid. Still because I am 70 years old, I can't rely on that so it was a good idea to get both shots.

Most of all it's great to be free of the mask and being extra careful about everything I do. Yes, if required, I still wear the mask and I social distance but I really suspect the mask is to protect others more than it protects you.

THKS Dena to witness:

[Most of all it's great to be free of the mask and being extra careful about everything I do. Yes, if required, I still wear the mask and I social distance but I really suspect the mask is to protect others more than it protects you]

That a fine and wise attitude.
For people still afraid of vaccine i can tell that even my son who is disabled with a frail health-neuro muscular disease since birth- got the Pfizer complete , had no major reactions to it.He is 43
Wife and I same 2 doses no side effects ; we are over 70 years old

After six months we are eligible for a third dose but we are not so prone to do it.

Actually the risk are the mutants and the reality that rich nations are egocentrics, not providing enough vaccines to the third world
That cud be a boomerang disaster as we have tropical diseases entering already due climate change

We shud care for the long time and stay cautious abt Covid in everyday life

Re: COVID Vaccinations

Hi.

I'm in the UK, both my wife and I are double vaccinated (Pfizer) and all OK, My last vac' was May, hers July. Both OK, other than a mild headache after the firs jab I have nothing to report. My wife as usual sailed through it without any issues.

Re: COVID Vaccinations

England have confirmed vaccine boosters for vulnerable people, over 50's and front line medics 6 months after their second injection. That will be late October for me.

Re: COVID Vaccinations

Following the earlier comments about Bells Palsy I looked up what the MHRA had to say about it.

Bell’s Palsy
MHRA continues to review reports of Bell’s Palsy and to analyse them against the number expected to occur by chance in the absence of vaccination (the ‘natural rate’). The number of reports of facial paralysis received so far is similar to the expected natural rate and does not currently suggest an increased risk following the vaccines. We will continue to monitor these events, including through evaluation of electronic healthcare record data.

So basically from a sample size of 40 odd million people vaccinated in the UK, your chances of getting Bells Palsy worked out statistically as about the same whether you're vaccinated or not.

The rest of the page goes into more detail on all the other side effects that are remotely possible.

There seems to be no mention of hair becoming straight, plagues of frogs and locusts, or anything like that.
