Done! AstraZeneca Covisheild. I was a little sleepy for 2 days with a slight headache and she had a bad fever but it went away. #2 in July so will have my antenna up for her fever.
----------------------------------------Let me comment on Gibraltar and Falklands being ranked high on the list. Both are islands. So only way in and out are boat and plane. Easy to control. Gibraltar has one road which is really a causeway built for WWII and has only 30,000 people. I'm sure New Zealand is up there too. It's minimum 1000 km from anywhere; 2000 km from Australia. Again easy to do. Kudos to them anyway and it's no excuse for us being #34. [Edit 2 times, last edit by BobbyB at May 12, 2021 3:35:46 PM] |

My wife and I got Moderna. First shot in Jan., second in Feb. No issues other than the expected mild soreness at the injection site the next day. The soreness was the same level I feel from the annual flu vaccine I get every Oct.

May bans lifted after May 15 but......still suspicious of new surge I've had first Astra shot, no side effects that I noticed other than the slight soreness at the injection site in my arm, which is to be expected of any such jab. Waiting now for my appointment letter for number 2 to come through the letterbox. It's sad about the paranoia around the AZ doses. There are millions crying out for them all around the world yet the people who can get them are refusing them. I've even heard of whole boxes of vials having to be destroyed because they weren't able to be used before they expired. A young girl at my work had a pretty healthy attitude to it when we discussed it. She said that the chance of suffering any serious side effects were less than being in a serious car crash, and not much less than getting hit by lightening. She said that she didn't get in a panic about going out the door if it was raining, or driving in her car, so wasn't going to worry about the AZ vaccine. She said that when her turn came she'd take whatever one was in stock at the time and just be glad to be able to get one and get her life back to normal. |

May bans lifted after May 15 but......still suspicious of new surge APOLOGIZES APOLOGIZES AGAIN AND AGAIN I WAS WRONG HERE ABOVE ITS NOT 22 MILIONS BUT 3,2 MILLIONS DOSES OF ANZ vaccine that are left in France on May 15th and we will receive some more in the next weeks -3 milions end of May and 4 millions in June The EU intends not to renew the order for ANZ. In France only people above 55 years old can have ANZ. So efforts are intensified to reach olders staying at home or still reluctants and physicians in town get the ANZ only;no choice Instead Germany see a rush on ANZ -reaching 30 millions vaccinated So we have reached 20 millions people vaccinated -at least 1 dose-. Collective immunity is far away. Well the situation is that France will lifts more bans on 19th May. and medical experts advise to keep the doses in case of a new surge. Some third world countries refuse the ANZ doses France may offer. Authorities fear people may skip the 2nd shot because the summer holidays and there are many pbs to deliver safely (and control) at holiday spots. Too much people feels wrongly to free off masks , washing hands, distanciation because they have been vaccinated Again sorry for my mistake earlier and hope to be accurate above BE CAUTIOUS. TAKE CARE Regards |

The four of us in the family have gotten 2 Pfizer's shots each. The youngest (15) still has 6 days to go to reach "fully vaccinated" status.

4 of us here got 2 doses of Moderna.
Bit of a sore arm both times, but moving it around after the shot helped, so it was less sore the second time. No reactions to first dose, most of took a nap after the second dose with a small grade fever for a few hours. I'm so grateful to have gotten shots as my brother declined and predictably got covid and while he didn't go to hospital, it hasn't been a fun 2 weeks for him, and he is still not back to normal. Personally I'll take a good excuse to have a nap. |
