Thanks a lot! It worked. Any sugestions what pref should I start with if I use RTX2080Ti + Ryzen9 3900X? I mean this ones <cpu_usage>1.0</cpu_usage> <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage> I've tried to set 0.25 CPU and 0.25 CPU expecting 4 simultanious GPU tasks but I see only 2. Same for 1.0 CPU and 0.1 GPU I am using it only for my GTX 1060's and GTX 1650 Supers, so I have not gone beyond two, though I could do three if I were willing to give up another CPU core. But for your card, I would leave the CPU part alone at first, and just reduce the GPU setting to 0.125, which should run eight. That would be about right I think. There are a number of others on this forum who can give you are more complete answer, but you will shortly figure it out yourself. Have fun. |

Just a quick update.
There are between 40-48 hours of work left to be run at the current pace of the stress test (so around Tuesday 12:00 UTC +/- 3-4 hours). I was working with some of the back-end jobs on Friday specifically looking at how much room we had left in the system and how we can arrange those jobs to not overload the system. That testing caused some of the instability reported on Friday so I apologize for that however, it was useful data to collect so I appreciate your patience. |

Hi Platoon,
I'm a newbie here so am really still finding my way. But, with the help of the comments on this forum, I have managed to get my 6 core 12 thread Ryzen 5 3600 and GTX 1660S running 8 GPU tasks and 8 CPU tasks simultaneously with a setting of 0.5 CPUs and 0.125 GPUs. It took a bit of trial and error and monitoring to get to this stage, but it seems to be keeping my PC happy. I see that Jim has suggested 1CPU and 0.125GPUs as a starting point. I'm not sure why you have only managed to get 2 GPU tasks to run simultaneously. One trap that I fell into while experimenting with this was adjusting the app_config.xml file without fully exiting BOINC first. The BOINC manager then continued to show the old settings when looking at the running tasks (e.g. "Running (0.5 CPUs + 0.5 GPUs)" instead of "Running (0.5 CPUs + 0.125 GPUs)"). If not that, does the Event Log tell you anything? If neither of these suggestions helps, I'll have to leave it to others on the forum to assist as I'm getting out of my depth! ![]() Cheers, MJH333 |

The BOINC manager then continued to show the old settings when looking at the running tasks (e.g. "Running (0.5 CPUs + 0.5 GPUs)" instead of "Running (0.5 CPUs + 0.125 GPUs)"). What you see in the jobs list is only a name. The jobs get named when they download according to what the settings are at that time. They don't get renamed when you change settings. This is purely cosmetic and doesn't affect anything. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Jorlin at May 2, 2021 3:12:14 PM] |

One trap that I fell into while experimenting with this was adjusting the app_config.xml file without fully exiting BOINC first. The BOINC manager then continued to show the old settings ![]() there is no need to exit BOINC after making changes in the app_config.xml (this is only necessary when you adapt, for example, the cc_config.xml in the BOINC folder). After making the changes in the app_config.xml and saving them, just to to "Options" in the BOINC manager and klick on "reading configuration file". The changes become effective immediately. |

AutoDock for GPUs Improved calculation routines using OpenCL and CUDA have been developed by the AutoDock Scripps research team.[18] It results in observed speedups of up to 4x (quad-core CPU) and 56x (GPU) over the original serial AutoDock 4.2 (Solis-Wets) on CPU. The CUDA version was developed in a collaboration between the Scripps research team and Nvidia. It is currently faster than the OpenCL version.[9][18] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AutoDock Yeah, that info was true when I added it to that page. Since OPNG launched, uplinger has stated the OpenCL version is currently faster than the CUDA version. And since the CCSB GitHub page has removed the "CUDA is faster than OpenCL" bit of info, I removed it from Wikipedia as well. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

However, there does not seem to be any more task available. It stopped all of a sudden, and all I get from BOINC is "Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks" My 50 tasks only last for a very short time, and that time is soon up ![]() Edit: Seems to have been a temporary 35 minutes hickup. I just got new tasks. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at May 2, 2021 3:44:00 PM] |
