By limiting the number of generated WUs, server overload can also be avoided.
GeForce GTX 980 was launched in September 2014. |

It is on purpose to generate no WUs for Nvidia GPUs to prevent server overload. the 750-1000 per day that I am getting are all Nvidia GPU WUs ![]() EPYC 7V12 / [5] RTX A4000 EPYC 7B12 / [5] RTX 3080Ti + [2] RTX 2080Ti EPYC 7B12 / [6] RTX 3070Ti + [2] RTX 3060 [2] EPYC 7642 / [2] RTX 2080Ti |

Auto requests can be done in Linux using cron.
----------------------------------------crontab -e will open a template member in nano editor with comments. In windows there is a scheduler, I have not used this but others have examples in other threads, e.g. for HSTB & ARP1. Paul.

Running very low on intel GPU WUs. Only couple of WUs in buffer.

Most Boinc-Projects have a delay now, to stop flooding requests.
----------------------------------------Why is it so important to get a better performance for GPU-Work by flooding the Server of WCG with requests? There are a lot of Volunteers waiting in a normal response to get GPU-Work!

Why is it so important to get a better performance for GPU-Work by flooding the Server of WCG with requests? I thoroughly agree, except that I am no longer waiting. I have put my GPUs on Folding, where they can do some good. There are a lot of Volunteers waiting in a normal response to get GPU-Work! Apparently some people think the world is waiting on this. But there are dozens, if not hundreds, of coronavirus treatments waiting to be tested. This is just another on the pile. We won't know the best for months, if not years. |

Well, I've stopped even trying to get any GPU work. If some script kiddies takes 1000 WU´s per day (by constantly "abusing" the servers with requests), out of the 2000 per 30 minutes or 96000 per day that is available now, then there's no reason for us "normal" BOINC users to even try. Especially since there are plenty of those script kiddies here.
----------------------------------------Yes, I know that boinccmd.exe is there, and can be used to request new work by using it with a script. However just because it is possible to do something, that doesn't mean one should do it. I did warn about this behaviour from some former SETI multi GPU's/computer users, when the GPU project started here on WCG. So, I'm certainly not surprised. I'll save lots of money by having my computers turned off. [Edit 3 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at May 11, 2021 5:40:29 PM] |

Since you asked, the first out of the gate of the computer-designed molecules is a very promising one from Rosetta:
----------------------------------------https://www.ipd.uw.edu/coronavirus/ And Folding is near the end of their very extensive search as part of COVID Moonshot: https://foldingathome.org/2021/04/20/maximizi...g-industry-collaborators/ Pfizer already has a pill in Phase 1 testing: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/27/pfizer-at-hom...o-albert-bourla-says.html And Roche also has a pill that they are getting ready to test: https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-p...ut-intervened-2021-04-21/ You can find others that yield promising results in the lab, but haven't gotten to testing yet, or did not work when they did. https://www.healthline.com/health-news/heres-...s-for-covid-19#Antivirals I hope that OPN finds a better, less expensive, etc. treatment, but it won't be the first. I was just thinking about disabling the GPU tasks so you and other WCG/BOINC only people have more, especially since my nvidia card would still be busy computing things for covid with F@H.edit: OPNG is now disabled for the nvidia card. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by goben_2003 at May 11, 2021 6:57:59 PM] |

for the several weeks prior to the stress test, the OpenPandemics project as a whole was averaging 1,114,550 results returned per day.
----------------------------------------During the stress test, excluding the first day (higher than normal results due to fast batches finishing up), 4/28-5/5, the OpenPandemics project as a whole averaged 1,734,768 results returned per day, an increase over the nominal average of about 620,000 additional tasks per day for the stress test. This varied a bit per day ranging anywhere from 470,000-750,000 extra WUs per day over the nominal average. the first day (4/27) saw an additional 982,098 results. I only contributed at full capacity for the first 2 days of the stress test. For the first day (4/27), I returned 11,812 results, or roughly 1.2% of the total extra for this day For the second day I returned 3,820 results, or roughly 0.7% of the total extra for this day in the week following the stress test, I have resumed processing OPNG on all hosts and have averaged about 838 per day, or roughly 0.8% of the 96000 that go out each day. So it seems I am still processing the right amount of work relative to the processing power I'm providing to the project. glad to help out as much as I can :) ![]() EPYC 7V12 / [5] RTX A4000 EPYC 7B12 / [5] RTX 3080Ti + [2] RTX 2080Ti EPYC 7B12 / [6] RTX 3070Ti + [2] RTX 3060 [2] EPYC 7642 / [2] RTX 2080Ti |
