A RTX 3070 has 5888 NVIDIA CUDA computing units and can produce a large amount of data.
The servers are currently too weak. https://www.nvidia.com/de-de/geforce/graphics...re/?section=compare-specs |

The kitties are flummoxed this morning. 4 hours they've been clawing at the server and nary a nibble o' kibble have they been able to find.

It's been purely random for me. I guess too many people are lining up for Nvidia WUs. Still, they come in occasionally. None of my Intel systems have a new enough IGPU to be usable.
I run .1 day for both of my queue settings. It's anybody's guess whether or not that's good or bad; I do notice that when it starts running low on GPU work units it starts getting a bit needy for a while and immediately checks in after finishing every GPU unit, before reverting to more typical check-in behavior some time after the last GPU unit is gone. It's hard to say whether I'd get more units in a batch with a longer queue or not. There are only so many WUs to go around, and (correct me if I'm wrong) they have to be divvied up as Intel, AMD, or Nvidia beforehand. |

I’ve been getting about 750-1000 per day pretty consistently.

My intel GPUs are so slow, that they still have work. AMD GPU runs out of work every now and then, but NVIDIA is mostly idle.

@Andrew80431 how did you set your system to check for new WUs ever five minutes? I have gone through both BOINC APP and WCG settings and I cannot find anything related. I must be missing something. I have not been able to get any of the GPU WUs now for about 5 days.

It is on purpose to generate no WUs for Nvidia GPUs to prevent server overload.

It is on purpose to generate no WUs for Nvidia GPUs to prevent server overload. No, not the case at all. The servers were handling many times the work being generated now after the servers were tuned during the stress test. It's just that they are generating such a meager amount right now that it is spread very thin among the large number of nvidia GPUs on the project. The kitties claw and claw and meow at the servers, but lately it seems that they can only get work for their little GPU kibble bowl every 3-4 hours most of the time, and sometimes it's only a few at a time. Pretty rare right now to get a good solid batch of GPU work. Even with the slow GTX980 that the kitties are playing with, most times all the work they get is done and the GPU is idling long before they are able to get any more. At least, that's the view from here in kittyland. Meeeeeeeeeeow ![]() |
