HCC didn't use AutoDock but the Help Fight Childhood Cancer project did use AutoDock.
----------------------------------------SCC uses AutoDock Vina. Maybe there's a cancer project that might use this one day. AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

I am sorry to having to jump in here but all my Beta-WUs are ending with Valid but Claimed/granted 0.00/0.00. Is there a place I can look to see why this is? ........ It looks good to me, but no points are displayed. Not that I care too much about Points, but I'm just wondering. Cheers aend Aend, This looks like a work unit that was sent before the updated validator was in place. I have mentioned above, that I regret that I can not retroactively provide points to these previous work units. This is why the granted points show zero. Thanks, -Uplinger Many Thanks for the quick reply, I totally understand and now also know why it was. I saw new WUs from today are getting Points now. Keep the good work up! Thanks BR aend |

Looks like a pretty successful run. Congratulations!
----------------------------------------A couple of oddities I can see in the points: - My claimed credit is always 0.4, whereas granted is typically somewhere between 700 and 1200. I understand the granted figures, but the claimed one looks odd. Not that it really matters... - My tasks usually fly solo, but on the occasions when there has been a wingman, his/her granted points are always slightly different from mine. An example is https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...s.do?workunitId=598068979 granted values 1054.7 and 1035.3. There is probably a valid reason, but just pointing out in case it's an accident. Thanks [Edit 1 times, last edit by cpalmer at Apr 1, 2021 8:49:11 AM] |

The variance in GPU utilization comes during the time one job of the WU has completed and the next one starts. Perfectly normal if you're only running 1 task at a time. Run more than 1 task at a time and you probably won't see that. How do you do this? Some special BOINC setting? My BOINC client is only running as much GPU jobs as there are GPUs (2x Nvidia, 1x Intel HD) at the same time. Also as it was explained the GPU jobs will get more complicated over time with the (apparent) subunits taking more time so the problem would ease out. Why would you want more GPU jobs to run at the same time on one GPU, this would be different from the CPU jobs where you always run one WU per core (or thread in case of hyperthreading). |

You run multiple GPU tasks at the same time by creating an app_config file with the correct syntax and placing it into your WCG project folder. You then go to the options tab in BOINC and select "read config files". A search here should give you all the info you need.

After last night's mega run, I've been trying to put together some statistics. The figures come from my two Linux hosts, because they each have two identical CPUs, and timings etc. aren't affected by mixed hardware. Host 7710418 has two GTX 1660 Ti GPUs, and host 7710326 has two GTX 1660 Super GPUs. So both are pretty modern and efficient, but by no means top of the range. They are configured to run two tasks at a time on each card, in an attempt to even out the thermal stress as each Autodock job terminates.
Last night's run ran from 17:00 UTC to around 20:45 UTC - rather less than four hours. I didn't stay up for the bonus midnight treat! During that time, I was running seconds:on the 1660 Ti machine, and seconds:on the 1660 Super. So, the combination of a busy feeder, the two-minute delay between requests, and a maximum limit of 8 tasks at a time, wasn't able to meet demand. 'Idle', in WCG terms, meant that the machine went off to fetch from a backup project, and was unavailable to WCG for a while. During the run, the Ti completed 202 tasks, at an average runtime of 175 seconds. It was awarded an average of 957 BOINC credits per task, for a theoretical BOINC RAC of 236,476 (credits per day) per card. The Super is, as expected, slightly slower: 170 tasks, average runtime 185 seconds, 959 credits per task, RAC 224,383 per card. I hope that gives everyone some useful idea of the sort of Pandora's Box that's being opened here! |

One of my hosts, equipped with Intel Pentium G2030 and Widnows 7 Home 64bit, managed to snatch couple of such units. Upon launching of the 1st one, Windows reported an error with graphics card which was recovered - bad sign, however calculation progress was moving until 100% and then stayed there for couple of hours. I decided to cancel this unit and all other GPU workunits waiting in the queue.

Latest drivers available for this card are installed, BOINC sees this iGPU as OpenCL 1.2 capable, however I have some doubts. Should I paste any more info, or the issue is rather clear? I recall that there was a number of issues with older Intel GPUs, hence the question if any deeper investigation of the issue I encountered is needed. I didn't stay up for the bonus midnight treat! During that time, I was running Uplinger delayed the midnight run due to technical issues. Maybe it will happen later today.
