So the R5 235 is incompatible because of lack of OpenCL (despite TechPOwerup saying otherwise), but why is it saying that Nvidia GPU is missing? ("Application uses missing NVIDIA GPU")

Have you allowed to use all GPU's in Boinc?

That is the reason that machine is not getting WUs. In the past I have found that AMD and Nvidia trying to run on the same machine sometimes don't play nice together. Driver conflicts, and it's usually the Nvidia card that suffers. If it were me I'd remove the AMD card, uninstall the driver, reinstall your Nvidia driver and try again.

Okay, I solved the issue by:
1. Removing the incompatible AMD GPU from the system physically
2. Uninstalling AMD Graphics drivers
3. Installing newest Nvidia drivers and choosing "perform clean install"
4. Reboot

Immediately after, I got a Beta task and the log in BOINC looks nice! :)

After running 6 WUs on an NVidia based Windows 10 machine fine, I got one (1) WU again on my MacBook Pro, which crapped out after a few minutes (as shown by the CPU time) and also might have caused that machine to crash (just the spinning beach ball of death on a black screen when trying to wake it from the screen saver).

I admittedly don't know much about Macs but I do know that running a screen saver on a low power machine/GPU can cause issues when crunching. Maybe disabling your screen saver might help.

No, but I saw it now - we had the same thoughts in mind though it seems :)

I have one other PC with a GTX960 and an AMD R9 280 that play nicely together, but I must admit it does feel like an error-prone setup.
