Re: Well it's about time for GPU work for years of delay.

I don't think it's the people working hard on this project who need to grow up.

Forum moderation is a no-win job in terms of satisfying everybody. It's obviously not up to me but having done some over the years on other forums, I would absolutely not allow this kind of personal attack. I 2nd the motion for the moderators to deal with it.

It's not a personal attack to suggest someone should be responsible for getting in the way of someone else's job. It's a statement of fact. Anyone that gets in the way of something that can save lives is responsible for the loss of those lives. An analogy would be a traffic warden holding up a fire engine for parking badly. You need to turn down your sensitivity meter.

Fully agree - that anyone thinks it acceptable to address a problem by insulting the workers and volunteers who are trying to help is unbelievable.

Aww diddums, if you call me an idiot I won't cry about it. I expect adults not to get upset about silly little things, it's pathetic.

Re: Well it's about time for GPU work for years of delay.

Are there now beta tests going on? Unlike some projects, there's no option in the preferences to accept test work. Some projects have another "project" to attach to for testing, but I've not heard of one for WCG.

Thanks, those seem to be ticked for both my device profiles, I must have somehow found it a long time ago - it must be hidden away somewhere since you can't get there from the device profiles. Come to think of it I did once see Cancer Markers beta stuff running. I've not seen any test GPU work though, maybe it's not been released to us yet.

You'll know there's BETA work when an announcement is made on the BETA Testing Forums.
Thanks, forum placed on watch.

I wonder if this could make it easier for other WCG projects to adopt GPUs or would they have to go through such an extended period of review before implementing a GPU client?๐Ÿค”

Either way, I am looking forward to the forthcoming client and hope that it will help to make a difference. ๐Ÿ‘

That would depend on whether any other project would like to use AutoDock. No other project currently uses AutoDock.

The only other past/intermittent project that may use AutoDock is FAAH if it ever returns with more work.

But yes, if researchers wanted to start a new WCG project for Influenza, and they wanted to run AutoDock on GPU's, it would surely be easier to do so by then.

Re: Well it's about time for GPU work for years of delay.

Hello everyone,

We've just begun the beta test of GPU units for OpenPandemics - COVID-19. For anyone who participates, you can ask questions or post results here.

Since the test has started, we're now locking this thread.
