Will admit it's an odd feeling to be staring at a machine that's running dry then out of the corner of your eye you see 3 units in "Downloading" state and think it must be a mirage or your system had frozen. :D

Your eyesight doesn't need testing. It is really happening! With the machines that you have, I would suggest that you make sure that the checkpoints stay apart on the same machine. And keep the reporting apart on all machines, That will avoid overloading issues. Mike |

Checkpointing hasn't been an issue, especially on the SSD systems. The USB flash drive systems do pause when checkpointing but nothing major. No issues with uploads either.
----------------------------------------Interesting enough the Core i5-3570 (Ivy Bridge) is the fastest machine by far. 11-14 hours for ARP1. It's a combination of Linux being faster than Windows and likely less mitigations for Spectre/Meltdown. The 8th Gen Coffee Lake on Windows easily takes about 18 hours each. If/when MCM1 sarcoma work starts happening, I'll focus on that project. I'm going all in on MIP1 for my first Diamond 5 year badge. There's still plenty of people hungry for ARP1 work, so it's fair to take a break for now. Plus in January 2020 I estimate ARP1 used over 75 GB of Internet bandwidth, which is a lot considering Comcast in the USA has a 1 TB per month cap before further penalties.

I have an i7-3770 with W7pro and that slows significantly with more than 4 of 8 threads. No bandwidth problems as no other high usage. TV is by satellite.

The 50% increase in work available has taken over my I5 4690 which crunches ARP in 15 hrs. This is the machine that routinely gets resends. For the past 3 days I have been crunching ARP with a good backlog. No need to squirt in MIB to keep it crunching.

I have found that my i7-3770 with 8 threads crunches 4 arp units with a mix of mcm and mip in 22-24 hours but 8 units in about 27-28 hours.
They are all worthy projects so I prefer to get the faster speed than with arp alone, especially as i have cancer (prostate) albeit now with a very low PSA level. It looks as though I will reach 20 years on mcm in about 2 years, 2 years on mip in about 3 months and 1 year on arp in about 2-3 months. I will reassess each project as I hit the next badge, based on the situation at the time. Scc may be back for which I have done 2 years. I will probably hold hstb and faah at 5 years as they are ahead of all but mcm. At least with arp we can see exactly how far the project has to go as we are currently in the third generation (002) of 182/3. We have been told that it will cover a year but 365 is not divisible by 2. Mike |

especially as i have cancer (prostate) albeit now with a very low PSA level. Off topic: I wish you well with that. Keep monitoring it and don't let it get away from you. Been there. Cheers

Thanks, Sgt.Joe
Half day returns up to 1600, so either the slower machines are starting to finish their first of the enhanced flow or the flow has been cranked up another notch. Mike |

Half day returns up to 1600, so either the slower machines are starting to finish their first of the enhanced flow or the flow has been cranked up another notch. As of the Feb. 5th I think you may be correct, but not by very much. The first five days of February look like this for the average time per work unit. Feb.1 .986 days Feb. 2 .992 days Feb. 3 1.005 days Feb. 4 1.016 days Feb. 5 1.036 days At this point we are not yet up to the average of returning 4000 per day, but we are inching closer at 3,318 completed units for Feb. 5. Cheers

The midday results show a further edging up consistent with your lengthening of time taken, probably indicating more slower machines. However, probably not up to sending out 4000 per day yet.
