I hope all the climate change projects are not waiting for the Trump administration to leave office (between soon and Jan 2025). A few of us crunchers out here would like to crunch a few new WUs for the climate change cause before we all end up underwater from the oceans rise ....

Whatever about computation development problems, having lived at 2000m on the Western Rift of Africa I find it difficult to believe that there is any model that can predict or be useful for weather and climate analysis that will assist densely populated agricultural communities.
There is far to much short & long term variation across the continent for any general hypotheses, so I hope this (and the others) is not some academic exercise that is irrelevant to the near 1.2 billion people that have to survive and prosper in this time of growing insecurity on all levels of existence |

You can work on some other project if you want to. But civilization has never been in the position of destroying itself before with greenhouse gasses. It seems to be a test of the intelligence of the population more than anything else. |

I bet the 2nd and 3rd projects have forgotten about WCG and BOINC by now or at least saying to themselves "Dang, wouldn't pencil and paper be faster?" |

WCG will be ready to go when they are. It is probably a question of fitting the data into a form that can be sent out to home computers, and then validated properly. I expect it is quite a team effort to get it all working right.
