Re: Is anybody still getting work?

At my current rate of progress I need another 30 days to get enough WUs to make 5-year diamond. Unfortunately that takes me into April when it is supposed to finish in March.

Maybe it will slow as badge hunters reach their targets.

My latest projection indicates getting my 10 year badge for HSTB about 21st March, assuming progress stays as curent. Will immediately move over to MIP and try for 20 years for that project.

If 30 CPU days I would chance it. HSTB as only selection and only open it up briefly to other projects to keep work available. I have done this, and aborted a few other projects WU to encourage HSTB work.

I think you're close enough it's worth aiming for if you want it. I've read nothing from WCG or Univ. of Nottingham that suggests an end date anytime soon.

I just hit 2 years in HSTB (my first Sapphire) and un-selected the project to level up some of the other projects to Sapphire. I could theoretically hit 5 years of HSTB around June as long as the heat doesn't get too bad.

Re: Is anybody still getting work?

I agree, go for it! The techs usually aim to give 30 days notice of a project ending, which they haven't done yet for this one. We may be nearing the end, or maybe not, who knows.

The only thing that is certain is that the predicted end date graph on the research page is about as accurate as a Scottish weather forecast!

If I ever get to emerald, I will click No New Tasks so as to let others get work units. Right now I am still in Ruby.

Thank YOU!!!! I looked at my Pending Validations and the estimated times of WU in my queues and I am in spitting distance of EMERALD. I will deselect HSTB and suspend some of my WU's until the numbers come in. I try to not overshoot my badge numbers more than a day (hey the only real personal input to this activity) !!! Will abort any residue.

Re: Is anybody still getting work?

I should be rolling crunchers over to other tasks in about 2-3 weeks if the current supply of WU's hold up for HSTB. I'm now only about 3.5 years from the 20 year mark for HSTB and have a supply in PV and also in progress, so I'll taper out to other projects once I get into the 19.5 year area

Re: Is anybody still getting work?

Supply appears to have dried up again. I guess sapphire is a pipe dream now! crying
