Re: World Community Grid Moves to IBM Cloud

Patrick, that may be related to this paragraph (from here ):
We have not yet started the processes for handling trickle messages for FightAIDS@Home - we will delay starting this until Tuesday, May 16, in order to give everyone a chance to upload the trickle messages.[\quote]

Re: World Community Grid Moves to IBM Cloud

This went quicker than we expected. Now some of us who grabbed extra WUs will have some crunching to do to use up all the queued up work. The big crunchers are already hungry for more, but I may have several days of crunching to go before I get my backlog down to my normal day or two extra ... biggrin

Just to recap should we ignore this message?
World Community GridWCG_ENVIRONMENT_ADDED_WCG: Notice from BOINC This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add http://WCG_MASTER_URL_WCG/ 16/05/2017 05:59:46
?

Yes - this was generated by an error on our side that has been fixed. No action is required on the users side. We apologize for the confusion about it.

[quoteAlso one of my machines has ~14days worth of WU's it's trying to report (across all projects) but the message from the wcg project is 'Trickle up message pending, Communication deferred 02:00:10' can this also be ignored?

We have not yet enabled the trickle handling, this will be enabled in a few hours and then it should resolve without you having to take action.

Different issue. When hitting Reply when not yet logged in, before you'd get redirected to the log-in screen. Presently:

Error 404: javax.servlet.ServletException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: SRVE0190E: File not found: /viewLogin.do

This is added to the fix list. There are a few issues that we have found - the not yet fixed ones are small so far like this one. We have some more migration work to do and then we will start working through these fixes.

Re: World Community Grid Moves to IBM Cloud

At this point the following is running:
1) Website
2) Forums
3) File uploads and downloads
4) Reporting completed work and fetching new work
5) Validation

We have some more work to do, but we are off to a good in this new environment.

Well Done applause

I know about the trickle messages.

My FAH2 is still waiting to be validated though. I was just wondering if that is because the FAAH and FAH2 are currently not being sent to the validators, as part of the migration process, or because there is a problem with the migration process still to be fixed.

Just letting people know, in case they have missed something on the migration.

Re: World Community Grid Moves to IBM Cloud

A few updates on FightAIDS@Home applications.

1. The FA@H - Vina validators were offline for about 3 hours this morning, there was a learning experience about the new environment and how validators are being run. They are back up and running now and a permanent solution is in place.

2. FA@H - 2 - Bedam does not have the trickle handler running at all yet. These work units have multiple parts to them. The intermediate uploads need to complete, then trickle messages get processed. Because of the large outage, I have disabled the trickle message handler so that members had 24 hours to return those intermediate files. We are seeing uploads coming in at a consistent rate, so the surge of uploads are over. I will turn on the trickle message handler first and let it process those messages. After it has caught up, then the validator will be turned on to allow for final credit of the result. Once the validator is caught up, then the process to monitor late results will be started. Then it should be business as usual.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Mac, are you still seeing the trickle up message pending? I am currently seeing new trickle messages coming into the database and should have been since last night. Let me know if you are still having that issue. Also, please feel free to post your event logs.

Thanks,
