I have several machines running Linux mint and I installed Psensor via synaptic.
----------------------------------------It gives a nice visual of cpu temperatures. Cheers

Falconet,
I can't get lm-sensor to read any chips. It finds two ITE chips but does not identify or read them. Thanks |

Sgt. Joe,
I use Psensor all the time with my other computers. I can't get lm-sensors to find any chips to work with. I hope in time (short) that an update will be made to fix this problem. I am assuming that I am not the only one in this situation. Thanks |

I have finally found out some info about the lack of sensor support for the ryzen cpus. It has to do with amd not releasing information about the ryzen line. So those who support utilities that provide temp and other info can't update their programs till amd releases it.
This is only of interest for those using linux and a ryzen cpu. dondee |

Power consumption at the plug is about 135w with a 5450 video card. I had a gt650 ti sc in and thought putting the 5450 card in would save power. Actually, the consumption went up 2-3 watts. If you're lucky and your motherboard will boot without a GPU, you can run your system headless. The 5450 should use 7-9W idle. My 1700 rig with a GTX 1060 does 120W, for comparison. I'm not sure on how to do it on linux mint though, most of my crunchers are headless ubuntu servers. ![]() |
