The outage in the supply of new FAAH2/FAHB work could indicate that the release of the long-awaited ARE WUs is just around the corner.
Knreed recently posted that the scientists are waiting on him to get ARE into production, but he'd been delayed in that by the switch to the IBM Cloud servers and the problems that followed. So he's probably back to working on ARE right now. I'd have expected some more rounds of beta testing for it before the release though. ARE should improve the efficiency of our CPU resources in achieving results, so crunching more of the current type of WUs would consume CPU resources better spent on other work, eg FAHV. OTOH, the delay could also indicate that analysis of the FAHB WUs crunched so far suggests that the BEDAM software used in FAAH2 is not useful in reducing the number of false positive potential drug candidates that were generated by the earlier screening with AutoDock and VINA ?? |

I am not sure we get the idea it is a new application for F A phase 2 it says a new application for a new research project. This information is in the Beta Announcement thread [Edit 1 times, last edit by Speedy51 at Aug 4, 2017 9:10:53 AM] |

I think AsyncRE is still a ways off... Researchers indicated they were still having technical issues. I think we are several betas away from any switch to the new process. It looks like we are getting close to the end of the current set of WUs based on the generations I'm seeing. I don't know if the researchers are going to release additional batches or wait for AsyncRE.

Or... Someone's just asleep at the switch, which has happened on this project before.

I received ten tasks on one machine 2 hours ago (only this project was selected)

The amount of available FAH2 WUs has been dropping continually since a month ago... right now it's less than 1K WUs per day (with this we now have 2 projects with WUs that are difficult to get ). Hopefully it will pick up soon.

Hopefully it will pick up soon. At the moment, HSTB WU's are positively abundant compared to FAH2 - some five times as many... I know that's not saying much compared to the other projects, so hopefully it will pick up again soon...CJSL Crunching for a better world |

I am working on creating new work units we have from the researchers. We have plenty of work available, it is just a manual step to build these workunits since they create workunits from previous ones. The manual step is getting the first copy created which should be done later today.
Thanks, -Uplinger |
