Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

Even though I could drive to Nottingham (i.e., I'm in the UK), I'm still finding it hard work to get WU's. smile

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

Greetngs!!

It appears that the x:03 and x:33 has shifted.
while fishing on 24 Jan, I caught 7 HST WU at 10:18 UTC.

I feel guilty.
after midnight EST, I have been banging away at the server every 15 mintes.
I really do not like loading the server.
That is why I share a 'good' time with others - to cut down on the requests to the server. ( better that 'scripting crunchers' send requsts one time, than all repetively bang all day/night.) [my opinion]

I will try that time once again tonight and see if it repeats.
maybe i'll be lucky.

Anyone else want to share a good time????
(( OOPs. Did I really say that??))

I don't mind if others get the HST WU.
I enjoy the search.

Jay

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

Let us know what you discover. I haven't gotten any HSTB in many days.

Cheers coffee

I do not mind a gap of about a week. It is the three-month gaps that disappoint me.
Notice that Climate Prediction has not been delivering work units for several months, although I got one a couple of weeks ago.

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

I think its time to start treating these work units in the same way as the betas: one per core. Not only is that a more equitable distribution method, a fair amount of server load could be eliminated. More than a few times in the last couple of days I have seen a message in the event log of BOINC manager that the servers are too busy and the scheduler request is deferred. One shouldn't need to write scripts or babysit the device to receive work. Of course, the powers that be could just decide to end this interminable spoon feeding.....

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

Well, I don't know if it was the effect of many crunchers being diverted onto the new project (and hence, having their buffers full), but this morning I received 16 HST WU's!!!

Needless to say, they've all been pushed to the front of the queue.
