Unfortunately it's Windows 7 that runs most WUs.
----------------------------------------I have a Shuttle configured as my web server (Linux) but there is just not enough grunt in that computer to do the HST WUs. Once my Win7 box expires I will move completely to Linux :-) Cheers, Frits.

@zaschf
----------------------------------------Hi, Well, I think you can put the boinccmd in a ".bat" file. You will have to edit the path to the library that holds boinc stuff. and set the bat file to auto-run at your times. I did that on an older vista. Good Luck. Jay PS [start fishing bragging] I did not catch any HST Sunday or Monday. but 7 on 10 Dec and 12 on 8 Dec. [end fisfing bragging] :-) ![]() |

That was great!
----------------------------------------I had to clean up the script a little bit for my Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 system, but when the script went off, I got 4 work units. My script is like this: DellT7600:jeandavid8[~/Downloads]$ cat WCGstopTB.sh #! /bin/bash sleep 15 /usr/bin/boinccmd --project http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org update exit 0 and my cron entry for this is: #Mih Hr DOM Mo DOW Command 3,33 5-7 * * * /home/jeandavid8/Downloads/WCGstopTB.sh To work, I have a file in /home/jeandavid8 named gui_rpc_auth.cfg with the right stuff in it. ![]() |

I was successful in getting a batch file created that uses boinccmd to trigger an update and to automate its launch using Windows scheduler. I did not capture anything the first morning. I may not have the correct times.
----------------------------------------Rather than hijack this thread, can we move this topic to a new thread? Cheers ![]() ![]() |

Well, this morning I was successful in getting 4 HST WU's (3 * T300 & 1 T001) - whilst someone else will be kicking themselves, as my wingman all errored out with either "couldn't start app: Can't get shared memory segment name: shmget() failed" or "couldn't start app: CreateProcess() failed - A required privilege is not held by the client.", four other people will be happy - as that subsequently created four _2 WU's.

Hi there,
----------------------------------------Glad to see that the scripts and cron and Windows-equivqlent work for you. I didn't get HST wu every day either. In the interest of sharing data, below is when I rcvd the WU in EST (UTC-5).
I'm happy that I'm not catching all the fish. @NixChk, try 2:33AM, 3:03AM, 3:33AM an 4:03AM (UTC - 8 for California) try for 3 days and give a post. Let us know the results. Thanks, Jay I'll be out of town next week and will not be fishing. :-) ![]() |

@Jean-David,
----------------------------------------Thanks for the cron example! ---edit-- I did it a clunky way... # For more information see the manual pages of crontab(5) and cron(8) ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by jay_Orlando at Dec 15, 2016 2:26:10 PM] |
