Haven't got one in weeks. Its obviously not a dead project but if Betas are diamonds per say in terms of 'value', then this project is antimatter. Very rare indeed.

Whilst I've got CEP2, HST & Zika selected, I'm currently not too fussed over not seeing any of the TB variety of WU's for several weeks - as I'm really focusing on the latter project. If HST WU's come, then brill - if not, then when I go back into my "micro-managing phase" again (i.e., removing Zika from my regular selection and request updates at the selected/recommended times), I'm sure I'll be able to grab one or two again.

Me thinks this thread is a lot of whinging & whining. The HST project is slow, ponderous, and not for those who expect instant satisfaction.
There are almost 500 posts now - all saying the same thing. I am sure the message has been heard. There are plenty of other project WUs available to keep everyone's queue full and their cores warm. |

----------------------------------------I agree. I can usually get a few HST wu at 5:33 and 6:03 EDT. - and switch selecction and requst 0.8 days of work - and switch back to other WU at a more decent hour. Jay ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by jay_Orlando at Dec 10, 2016 5:26:12 AM] |

zaschf, as soon as you receive a 'lesser spotted HST WU' (which, as this appears to have been a resend - with it being aborted in this manner), get it started ASAP - as then, it won't get 'Server Aborted'. Okay, the original WU that your's was a replacement for may get returned and validated before your's, but your's will still get validated and credit attributed to yourself. Who knows, your's might actually return quicker than the original WU - and then, the "no reply" from the other person's WU will be a loss to them.

I guess that's one way to look at it.
----------------------------------------Mind you, since I'm only checking twice a day my project it's likely that I miss the odd one. Cheers, Frits.

I guess that's one way to look at it. Mind you, since I'm only checking twice a day my project it's likely that I miss the odd one. Cheers, Frits. Greetings! Do you use Linux? If so, here is a bash script to do an update on WCG using boinccmd #! /bin/bash ### To be started as multiple cron jobs. I use cron (crontab -e) to run this at 5:33, 6:03, 6:33, and 7:03 AM (my local time) Lets see if I can get the Wellington time zone.. I am at UTC -5 I think you are at NZDT (UTC +13) 5:33AM EST = 10:33AM UTC = 23:33(11:33PM) NZDT ??? so try a cron job at 23:33, 00:03, 00:33 and 01:03your time with HST set for your WCG choice and temproarily (for that time period) increase your preference of 'additonal days of work' by a day. I usually keep my preference at 0.2 days - but I'm unfamiliar with NZ ISP charges Hope you get to Emerald!! Jay ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by jay_Orlando at Dec 11, 2016 9:06:41 PM] |
