Are all the work unit you talk about repair jobs e.g. with a _3 or_4 at the end of each job name? I am curious & you say most are short due dates. Yes the due dates are 3 or 4 days only and with some taking me over 20 hrs to complete it can get a bit close. Another side note I have not had any invalids since the early weeks of the project but that seems to be rare. |

The timing on the work drought is not good for WCG – just as the cooler weather starts here, and just after I bought a reconditioned workstation with a Xeon E5-2670 configured for 16 threads. I confess it is a little bewildering to receive repeated e-mails from WCG stating that I'm only so many days from a higher badge for Help Stop TB, but cannot get the work.
Then today I find the same thing happening with Zika -- "No tasks are available." Einstein@Home (and of course my BOINC points) will be benefiting from WCG not having work available in my preferred projects – just as I start the autumn/winter ramp-up of what will now be 25 threads, with more threads likely to come. |

This project reminds me a bit of the African Climate one. But that one was muuuuuuuch harder to find a wu for.

Unfortunately I am not that long with WCG to remember African Climate, but this project remains me of Discovering Dengue Drugs Together 2

To be honest it was before I was going for badges... ![]() ![]() |

To be honest it was before I was going for badges... ![]() As the first (single) badge was introduced on the 15th of Jan 2008 and AC@H only ran between 03/09/2007 and 27/06/2008, there wasn't much time to even consider badges. The 'Bronze', 'Silver', and 'Gold' badges were introduced on the 24th of September 2008 - after this particular project finished (and hence, the much reduced targets for each of the levels that took into consideration the small scale of the project). ![]() |

Would it be possible to deselect this project for IBM hosted machines (i.e., http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewMemberInfo.do?userName=IBM). I imagine that that would free up some WU for the volunteers.

As IBM completes 80,000 WUs and 28 years daily, looks like IBM has already deselected TB and OET from their machines as their badges for those are 50 years and 10 years respectively. Considering the massive size of their account, they easily could take every TB WU but they aren't.
----------------------------------------Please also keep in mind the average Wus for TB is just under 8,000 but is slowing down with roughly 2,000 done yesterday (link). As others have noted much more eloquently, there just isn't enough TB WUs to go around. ![]() |
