Re: Making stuff work with your own hands!

@KliK

I've seen you have many dual core computers crunching. Are those all dedicated crunchers or are they part of that charity you're linking to, Play4Life? Are you running that charity?

Re: Making stuff work with your own hands!

using CoreTemp:

room temp = 80+F (?C)
temp at idle = 71F (26C)
temp all cores working 100% gpu 100% = 131F (55C)

Just get an extra fridge and keep it in there. That'll keep it cool laughing

I love the Radeon R9 series. We have a few dozen R9-290x and R9-270x cards at work for some internal distributed computing. We also ordered a couple of GTX980 and 970 cards. They were very nice cards and the power usage was far less than the Radeons. We are going to be getting some TitanX cards in the near future; I have high hopes for those smile

If you are using air cooling you must have found a way around the laws of physics to get lower idle temp than ambient room air temp...or the CPU temperature readings are off :)

I'm running that charity...we're promoting BOINC in Croatia, developing some small grids here & donating computer equipment to poor students to keep them in science!
wink

p.s. Sorry for the late reply, have seen the post just now!
