Buckshot here. For the most part, Texas did pretty well in the last Hurricane. Up in the Northern half of the state we saw nothing significant. Where I live we did not even get a drop of rain which is disappointing; we need it. I have friends in Houston that attempted to evacuate up to our place but spent 12 hours and only got about 100 miles. They turned around and went back to the Hotel they were living in in Houston (They live in New Orleans and their Condo was spared but they cannot return there yet). The night Rita came in, they did not even lose their air-conditioning or their internet access. My son in Florida had a very near miss with Dennis and his in-laws all lost there homes in Katrina. But no injuries or death.
----------------------------------------I hope Parmesian is OK. I suspect so, since the damage and flooding was not near as bad this time around. Someone tell the Atlantians that we are not really such bad people and we don't really need any more of these things. |

BuckShot --
Glad to hear from you and even better, to hear you are doing well. Earlier I looked up where you were and figured you got some rain and perhaps tropical storm strength winds. Was really worried about Parmesian. Some of his systems are still posting results, but in his post, he indicated only that he was shutting down some of his systems. It looks like the storm tracked enough to his east that he may not have had too much damage. We can only hope. I am sure we will hear from him pretty soon. -- Dave |

I think we might just, if we are really really lucky, make the 59,988 points we need to reach a phenomenal 50 Million points tonight (I've been using that thesaurus again )317 days since kick off, a miserable average of 157,000+ points per day ![]() (It took us the first 31 days to reach 157,000 points much less have it as our average per day score!!!!!) Everyone's contribution to this team has been awesome to say the least and it's big big thanks from me all round to everyone who's proud to be one of the MOT'ley Crew. Get the party hat's ready for tonight's celebration Dave ![]() |

Good to hear from you Buckshot. Hope all is well with you.
----------------------------------------The link I posted is live (ish) and so doesn't look anywhere near as worrying as it did when I first posted it. I had seen predictions that it was to stay in the area for at least 3 days. It is now over Tennessee and Kentucky and I think, please correct me if I'm wrong, it is now subsiding. Dave ![]() |
