Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.27 [ Issues Thread ]

I've a 218 task on my Q6600 2.40GHz XP, BOINC 6.12.43 system. It's 50% done after 8 hours and has had no problems recovering to the previous checkpoint (elapsed time, CPU time and progress are all restored to the expected values on restart).

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.27 [ Issues Thread ]

I see I too got a couple of the 218s on my PC, but will have to wait until I get back home to see just how big they really are. Hopefully, I will be able to test them too.

Cheers!

Make that my home laptop and by the looks of it they will be done before I get to checking them, but I did suspend them several times this morning, unfortunately LAIM was on.

Regrettably, 1 PVer, one of two having a restart, AND 2 different Result.out values.

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.27 [ Issues Thread ]

So far I have restarted 5 Betas. The first 2 validated, the 3rd got a different result.out and is pending and the last 2 are still running. I will let the next few (if I ever get them) run without a restart.

Silver lining: I restarted the last 2 with a reboot since both my CEP2 jobs finished. CEP2 has given me a bad habit - I often go more than a week without rebooting. I deserve weird irreproducible errors on my computer for such slackness.

Lawrence, some will ask "What power button?" My W7-64 octo only boots after patch day, and only when I tell it to [when there's no CEP2 running]. Opposed with Linux and KSplice [sadly transferred ownership to Oracle], live kernel patching... never needing to boot.

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.27 [ Issues Thread ]

Might want to take a closer look at

BETA_MCM1_0000089_6192

While other beta MCM1 WUs I had running restarted OK through several restarts on my laptop, the WU above seemed to get a bit confused.

Last night before I shut down for the night, this WU showed about 21 mins left to complete. When I started my laptop this morning, it first showed over 1 hr left to complete, then reset shortly afterwards to look like it restarted with 14+ hrs to complete to go, then shortly after that it reset again to 22 mins to completion. From there, it ran to completion this morning and I checked and it and the wingman's version of this WU - both completed valid. This may be only a nit issue, but it may be worth a look.

Currently get this problem when trying to download this BETA:

10/12/2013 15:44:30 | World Community Grid | Temporarily failed download of beta17.dataset-17_72_SDG_v1.txt: transient HTTP error
10/12/2013 15:44:30 | World Community Grid | Backing off 18 min 40 sec on download of beta17.dataset-17_72_SDG_v1.txt

10/12/2013 15:44:39 | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.27 [ Issues Thread ]

I restarted 8 tasks
So far 1 valid (restarted twice!), 3 pval, 2 ver, 2 still running

Pvers (both restarted)
BETA_ MCM1_ 0000144_ 3561_ 0-- ran 8 hours, logged 6.62 It does not match the wingman. Lets see if it will become invalid.
BETA_ MCM1_ 0000144_ 8933_ 2-- ran 8.75 hours, logged 6.71. It does not match one wingman (the other errored) I think it will become invalid too.

Cheers coffee

[edit- swapped the Pval and Pver count]
