Is the "include a few things" also cover OS-X 10.5.x support for this build?

I suppose we're again requested to restart these tasks with LAIM=off ?

Mumak, Yes, please test restarts with LAIM off, or reboot your machine.

Sekerob, version 7.27 had a 100% success rate for OSX 10.5.x, we expect to see the same results for 7.28.

Thanks,

As a help to quick check if BOINC did what it's supposed to do with LAIM off, you can set the <cpu_sched> log flag in the cc_config.xml . The Event/Message log will then record this:

249 World Community Grid 12-12-2013 23:52 task BETA_MCM1_0000143_4847_0 suspended by user
250 World Community Grid 12-12-2013 23:52 task BETA_MCM1_0000143_5673_1 suspended by user

256 World Community Grid 12-12-2013 23:52 [cpu_sched] Preempting BETA_MCM1_0000143_8123_0 (removed from memory)
257 World Community Grid 12-12-2013 23:52 task BETA_MCM1_0000143_4847_0 resumed by user
258 World Community Grid 12-12-2013 23:52 task BETA_MCM1_0000143_5673_1 resumed by user

260 World Community Grid 12-12-2013 23:52 task BETA_MCM1_0000143_8123_0 resumed by user
261 World Community Grid 12-12-2013 23:52 Restarting task BETA_MCM1_0000143_4847_0 using beta17 version 728 in slot 0
262 World Community Grid 12-12-2013 23:52 Restarting task BETA_MCM1_0000143_5673_1 using beta17 version 728 in slot 1
263 World Community Grid 12-12-2013 23:52 Restarting task BETA_MCM1_0000143_7374_1 using beta17 version 728 in slot 2
264 World Community Grid 12-12-2013 23:52 Restarting task BETA_MCM1_0000143_8123_0 using beta17 version 728 in slot 3

If LAIM is on, the "(removed from memory)" will show as "(left in memory)".

The above set now has had 3 restarts.

Sek,

As always, thank you for your help! Also, great tip for showing what's happening in the event log.

Thanks,

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.28 [ Issues Thread ]

The most recent versions of Boinc manager have a limit size for the event log. Previous versions showed the log since boot to current time, even for weeks. It now shows only the last days (hours, in my case). Could someone direct me towards a solution to increase the size of the event log?

Thanks

Hello ccandido,
ProgramData/BOINC/stdoutdae.txt is eventually renamed stdoutdae.old and a new .txt file is started.

Hi lawrencehardin
Thanks for your helpful reply
I assume from your answer that it is not possible to increase the size of the file stdoutdae.txt, for instance changing something in cc_config.xml?
