Uplinger - How do you force a restart? You said you wanted this done. Suspend the task with "Leave applications in memory while suspended" unticked. |

Another method would be to restart your computer. But I like Crystal Pellet's method better, because it only takes a few seconds to do that.
After you suspend a work unit, give it about 15 seconds (you can make sure the application is not in your task manager), then resume it. Thanks, -Uplinger |

FYI, when I said this beta was small, they all got downloaded before I was able to make the issue thread, I think they were all downloaded within minutes. I know very small beta but valuable for the researchers. We should have most of these results back by next monday to send back to them for review.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Got two, running fine so far. I'll do what I can to break them.

Uplinger - will the results you get show that a restart was performed or do you have to trust that the tester did the procedure?

This restart seemed to work ok, the task reverting to the CPU and elapsed times from the last checkpoint.
15/11/2013 20:41:53 | World Community Grid | task BETA_FAHV_x3AO1_IN_FBPa_rig_0197696_0042_0 suspended by user 15/11/2013 20:42:42 | World Community Grid | task BETA_FAHV_x3AO1_IN_FBPa_rig_0197696_0042_0 resumed by user The only oddity with the task is the Progress figure. With approx. 38 minutes CPU & elapsed time and 6 minutes as remaining estimate, Progress fraction done said 5%. This on an i5-750, Win7-64, BOINC 7.0.64, service install. |

I got two of these:
----------------------------------------BETA_ FAHV_ x3AO1_ IN_ FBPa_ rig_ 0197695_ 0053_ 0-- BETA_ FAHV_ x3AO1_ IN_ FBPa_ rig_ 0197695_ 0043_ 0-- and I performed the method as Crystal Pellet. Both had checkpoints. After resuming back they seem to continue - progress increments quite slow, CPU Time/Elapsed Time increments, in Task Manager these tasks consume appropriate CPU time. Remaining time is however very low (~2 minutes instead of few hours). ![]() |

It appears as though the initial estimate, which should have matched what we have for the production FAHV work units is causing improper estimated time of completion. From my estimate the work units will run about 6-8 times longer than a normal FAHV work unit. This is why the estimated time remaining is wrong.
