Got the message "Server error: high load, deferring request", too.
----------------------------------------On second attempt, task was reported successfully. Had no errors so far with 7.24 . edit: Now all science project image files have just been downloaded. Maybe preparation for launch? [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 6, 2013 9:07:49 PM] |

I've continued to get more betas though most are 7.21 resends (one as a 7.24 resend). I'm letting the 7.21's run as aborting them would merely get them sent on to someone else to crunch. All look to be running fine so far. We are due for the 7.19 resends to really start hitting in a few days. I suspect the admins may cancel those unless they believe there is more they can still learn from them.

Thanks much, Falconet. Nice project description and it is always nice to put faces and names to the researchers. |

Cool! I've been getting the mcm... file mentioned earlier with the 7.21 and 7.24 betas. From a quick look at this url, it sounds like a really neat project. There's been a lot of progress but there's still plenty of room for more. I read about someone at MD Anderson who improved the initial survival rate for pancreatic cancer from 4% to 8% and that was considered a major accomplishment. |

Hey,
----------------------------------------I got one BETA job that only did 2 passes in 3.5 hours. The biggest problem was that it checkpointed around 1h30m and then didn't checkpoint till the end around 3h30 runtime. About 2 hours before checkpointing isn't productive for computers that not run 24/7 .... This is my result log: Result Name: BETA_ BETA_ 9999987_ 0830d_ 0-- <core_client_version>7.0.64</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <stderr_txt> Commandline = projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/wcgrid_beta17_7.24_windows_x86_64 -SettingsFile BETA_9999987_0830d.txt -DatabaseFile dataset-GDS2771-v1.txt Initializing wcg_learn_limit = 250000 Running [19:08:34]: Computing pass 0 [20:46:40]: Computing pass 1 Result.out = 326273.000000 Run complete, CPU time: 12653.209910 22:41:07 (4984): called boinc_finish </stderr_txt> ]]> My computer is an AMD Phenom II X6 @ 3.2 GHz, 4 tasks running for 6 cores, 8GB RAM, Windows 7 home Premium 64bit. I'm letting the 7.21's run as aborting them would merely get them sent on to someone else to crunch. As opposed to letting them restart on your machine for 2+ days, have the server issue a no reply, then send the WU to another machine to crunch |

I have a 7.21 and a 7.19 and neither are running properly - 3mins and then restart....same saga as the first batch - not sure whether to abort (as I did the first batch, none of which ran more than 3mins either) but I can't see any great advantage to anyone if I just let them run, restarting every 3 minutes for the next 3 days (they have a duration set to 18.00 on 9 Nov).....Any idea what's best??
