Has the feeder stopped or are we out of Beta's? No new ones in the last hour.

I am seeing the same time difference between checkpoints that others are seeing. Over 2 hours on the Windows 7 64 bit machine I am on right now.

Is 45 minutes at 0.5% a problem? I know that someone, I think it was Kevin, said there is a bit of variability to the initialization phase at the start, but that seems a bit much.

Has the feeder stopped or are we out of Beta's? No new ones in the last hour. Probably the later - I am shrubbing the last 3 of 12 threads. And now - Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. Shrubbing@Home since January 5 2006 [Edit 1 times, last edit by branjo at Nov 7, 2013 7:48:42 PM] |

Depends on resources. I have seen one WU' for about 30 - 35 mins on my i7-3770. Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. Shrubbing@Home since January 5 2006 |

We are running another expanded round of testing using the same application version. There are roughly 2.5 times as many tasks in this round as the previous. We have also given the beta more weight so it should be easier to get more tasks. It is available on 32 & 64 bit Linux, 64 bit Intel Mac, 32 & 64 bit Windows. Good move guys Thanks and all the best As one of my teammates said: "Let the quest begin" Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. Depends on resources. I have seen one WU' for about 30 - 35 mins on my i7-3770. Patience is a virtue. It just popped up to 9.182% in one jump. Speaking of patience, I reported earlier that a wu was stuck at 77.96% for almost 10 hours of the 12 hours it had been running. I restarted BOINC and let it run overnight. It was stuck at the same spot again in the morning so I aborted it. . . Anyway, my wingman finally reported DONE in 15.86 hours. (I don’t know what speed his/her processor is running, mine is 2.4 GHz.) So please all take note, these can take a VERY long time to complete. |
