Re: New Beta Test starting Nov 6, 2013 v7.24 [ Issues Thread ]

All my WUs completed fine across 4 devices running Win 7 x64 and Win XP SP3 32-bit, all on Boinc 7.0.64. Didn't see the "if this happens repeatedly..." message either.

Good job, guys!

On a personal note, I feel closer than ever to reaching that coveted Beta badge. When the last 2 WUs are completed and everything else will be validated I should rack up approximately 12 days, which is pretty amazing to me since before these tests I only had 4.

Cheers! peace

Re: New Beta Test starting Nov 6, 2013 v7.24 [ Issues Thread ]

I just got back to my home desk and found that I had gotten 22 v7.24 WUs while I was away and am still crunching the last WU. It has been 7 hours since the last check-point. That doesn't look to good. I'll have to have a look at the results tomorrow.
7.24 Beta Test	BETA_BETA_9999977_0576_0	10:58:52 (10:58:16)	10.83% done	01d,02:18:26 time left checkpoint [3] 07:07:59
Of those that were completed the run-time varied between 3 and 11 hours.

Cheers coffee

Re: New Beta Test starting Nov 6, 2013 v7.24 [ Issues Thread ]

All my units seem to be reporting in happy and healthy, only two still outstanding - well it's a single core atom with HT so they were never going to be quick. I only had two stuck last time, so there wasn't much to improve on. It seems to be highly efficient at using the CPU also. I can even top Seks 99% efficiency on one or two units. shock

BETA_ BETA_ 9999974_ 0576_ 1-- mint Valid 07/11/13 20:13:53 07/11/13 22:44:20 2.50 / 2.50 41.6 / 38.6

Only a couple in this round were 100% but most were only a fraction off it, so well done to the folks who polished up the code.

In case the techs are interested, here's another example of a task showing a gap without checkpoints, regular in pass 0 but none in pass 1:

Event Log excerpts for this task:

Betas processed on all three machines: no issues. As noted elsewhere, processing times vary widely - from about 2.25 - 6.50 h.

All looking good: oh, wait: it's snowing lightly here!

Re: New Beta Test starting Nov 6, 2013 v7.24 [ Issues Thread ]

All v7.24 WUs ran OK - Win7-x64 and XP-x64, BOINC 7.0.64 x64, Service install - except for 1 that is still running:
* BETA_BETA_9999971_0666 *
69.1% done after 20h49m, last checkpoint at 20h49m,
last line of stderr.txt in slot directory says "Computing pass 13228"

Wingman is Pending Validation after 18.41h, last lines of his log file are:
> [04:43:03]: Computing pass 19107
> Result.out = 206.000000
> Run complete, CPU time: 66290.269335
> 04:43:03 (5340): called boinc_finish

To compute 19107 passes at my rate will take about 30h total.
My CPU hardware in this case is an i7-970 @ 3.86GHz (HT ON).
No ball of fire, it's doing the current run of FAHVs in just under 2h00m.
[Edit] My copy completed in 30.06h, and validated [/Edit]

(I will be annoyed if the WU runs into a time limit and errors out.
Anyone know whether this is likely?)
i.e. what is the time-limit on these WUs?

Also, has anyone else seen one of these WUs run so long?
